    The foundation and concrete slab materials are directly placed on the lattice-typed improved

    ground layer. As the improved ground layer, the foundation and the slab are constructed in

    one body, it can transfer the load of a structure to the ground effectively. In case of building

    on soft ground, so far the bearing pile foundation system has been mainly adopted in which

    the piles are penetrated down to the firm bearing stratum through the week layer. However,

    TNF can realize the low-cost foundation without piles by using the ground surface layer as the

    bearing stratum.

    What kind of foundation is TNF

    What kind of foundation is TNF? In short, it is the combination system of the

    raft foundation and the ground improvement (shallow soil improvement).The load through the columns (the load of the floors and walls of the second

    and higher stories) can be transferred to the bearing ground not only through

    the foundation under the columns but also through the slab around the

    foundation, by the unifying effect with improved ground, foundation and slab.

    In addition, it prevents ground moving laterally at the bottom of the improved

    ground layer. The structure becomes stable by this supporting mechanism.

    (This is called the confining effect of TNF.) This is one of the good point of

    TNF.

    The TNF raft foundation is constructed in one body with the ground, so there is no arising of

    The effect of confining the ground prevents the liquefaction effectively because it controls the

    liquidity of soil when earthquakes occur.

    It is possible to construct without any damage to the

    It is possible to build on ruins without destroying them. It is also

    possible to construct on the disposal station of industrial wastes.

    Reduction of CO2

    It is possible to reduce a large amount of CO2 by using

    fewer building materials and shortening the construc-

    tion terms, so that the operating time of heavy construc-

    tion machine can be decreased.

    1Combine of the foundation slab and the improved ground layer

    Crushed stone, concrete, reinforcing bars, and molds can be reduced considerably, and low-cost

    can be realized by the combine of foundation slab and improved ground layer.

    2Improvement of the on-site ground

    Since only the shallow ground soil is improved, the amount of soil carried out and in are

    decreased considerably because it is not necessary to dispose of excavated soil.

    3Reduction of the cost for removal

    In case of the structure with pile foundation on a fixed leased land, the cost of removing and

    disposing of the piles arises when the land is returned. In TNF system, the cost of destruction

    becomes low largely becouse the improved layer can be used effectively as the soil generated

    under construction, or put aside.

    4Shortening of construction terms

    Since the foundation and the slab concrete is directly placed on the improved ground layer,

    construction terms can be reduced considerably.
