Program ObjectivesUpon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand Teeth, Muscles, Joints and Airway (TMJA) Harmony Dentistry and its clinical benefits • Understand the fundamental of dental occlusion, controversies and the contemporary trend • Understand the occlusal force disorders (OFD) and their role in stomatognathic system harmony • Understand the relationship between, occlusion, bruxism and TMD • Understand the role of dental imaging, biometrics tools such as JVA, EMG, Jaw Tracker , digital occlusal scanning and
ambulatory polysomnography in screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment and monitoring of patient with TMJA Disorders
• Take a comprehensive case history of a patient with TMJA disorders and complete clinical examination for clinical management.
• Describe the mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, complications and side effects associated with various types of oral appliances used in management of snoring / OSA and TMD.
• Understand the fabrication technique of TMJA Harmony appliances (used for snoring / OSA and TMD) in the clinic • Understand the psychology of pain, role of relaxation and self–regulation technique applicable in TMJA disorders patients
