Norwegian traditions – a business with deep roots
TeamTec is continuing a tradition of marine industrial activity at Tangen in Tvedestrand, Norway, that dates back to
around year 1700. Today our company is one of the world leaders in marine waste incinerating systems and stripping
ejectors to the shipping and offshore industry. TeamTec was founded 17th May, 1984 by a small group of enthusiastic
pioneers. Their enthusiasm and passion is carried forward by the entire TeamTec staff, and we are confident that our
products will continue to be in the forefront of international development in the future.
TeamTec has expanded its product range with the ballast water treatment system, AVITALISTM, previously branded by
one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies, Evonik.
We are proud to supply our quality products to a demanding shipping and offshore market.

THE TECHNOLOGYSIMPLE OVERVIEW BALLASTING Ballast water is treated during uptake in the following sequence:
1. Ballast water is pumped through a 40µ automatic self-cleaning filter > 90% of the organisms ≥ 50 µ are filtered out and pumped back into the harbor
2. The biodegradable formulation PERACLEAN® Ocean is injected into the ballast water. Disinfection of the ballast water starts immediately and continues in tanks
3. Catalase is injected to help neutralization of PERACLEAN® Ocean
SIMPLE OVERVIEW DE-BALLASTING Ballast water is treated during discharge in the following sequence:
1. Inline sensors measure concentration of residual active substances. Water can be discharged without any neutralization at mild temperatures and long voyages
2. Sodium sulfite is added if necessary to neutralize any residual active substances

THE CHEMICALPERACLEAN® Ocean is the chemical compound in the AVITALISTM ballast water treatment system. PERACLEAN® Ocean is supplied by Evonik, one of the world’s leading companies in specialty chemicals. Decades of experience and production facilities on all continents equip Evonik with the necessary expertise and size to ensure security of supply.
PERACLEAN® Ocean is a liquid, highly effective and biodegradable preparation on the basis of active oxygen. It is formulated to meet the safety requirements of ballast water treatment on board of ships. The reason why PERACLEAN® Ocean is a unique environmentally green preparation is that its active substances degrade naturally to oxygen, water and readily biodegradable acetic acid.
THE CHEMICAL SUPPLY
In cooperation with globally operating partners in logistic services, Evonik can assure the continuous and safe supply of PERACLEAN® Ocean worldwide. PERACLEAN® Ocean will be shipped from Evonik’s production sites to main ports, where the product is stored in warehouses and brought onboard ships by Evonik’s partners.
