The cold weather, snow and gray skies make many of us just want to hibernate in our favorite pajamas and eat bon bons. The low temperatures also make exercising outside almost impossible. Staying active during this time of year is something we must definitely make a priority. Here are some ideas that will keep you moving this winter. Go to the mall – You don’t have to buy anything. It’s the space that you need. So put on those comfy shoes and “walk ‘til you drop.” Take the stairs – Whenever the opportunity presents itself, opt out of taking the elevator or escalator and use the stairs instead. Try group fitness – Most of the local gyms have aerobic classes for adults and children. They are fairly inexpensive and last for about 6‐8 weeks and most times you aren’t required to be a member to enroll. Join a gym – If your finances allow it, join a local gym, even if it’s only for the winter months. You will then have access to plenty of equipment that is sure to keep your workouts interesting, challenging and most of all, fun.
