OVERSEAS VISITS: DRESS You asked for a note. 19 September: You begin with a visit to the European Space Research Centre where overalls will be provided. You then have an Audience with Queen Beatrix, followed by a very small lunch with Mr. Lubbers. Dinner that evening is formal - you will need a long dress. PRIME MINISTER 20 September: On this day and the next you will be visiting the troops and will be outside quite a lot. You may need fairly warm clothes and flat shoes. The army will be providing Wellington boots but these may not be very photogenic. You may want to take some of your own. Day temperatures are likely to be 64 degrees in Ottawa,

668 degrees in Toronto , and 60 degrees in Edmonton - going down

to between 37 and 44 degrees overnight. Medium weight clothing

is recommend. A raincoat might be useful.

25 September: Informal quiet supper with Lord Moran

on arrival.

26 September: You have a lunch given by Mr. Trudeau,

followed by your speech to Parliament.

After the press conference we leave

for Toronto where Mr. Trudeau will give

a large dinner. The dress is described

as "Lounge Suit/Cocktail Dress".
