The Holy Name defense is anchored by senior Brandon Styers, junior Justin Swartz, and keepers Emmanuel Miranda and Cam Kalic. The Green Wave kicks off the 2016 soccer season against the Bulldogs when Holy Name travels to the Olmsted Falls Soccer Complex for the 1st ever Friday Night Futbol match between the two schools on August 19th.

The defending SWC Champs return 6 letterman including 2 SWC selections. Coach Mike Besu will look to junior Ameer Salem and senior Bryce Sharak to bring a solid offensive attack for the Demons as they defend their 2015 SWC title. The defensive chores are led by seniors David Milasky and Logan Whinery. The Bulldogs the Demons in an important early season matchup Wednesday August 24, 2016. The Bulldogs tied the Demons in Westlake last year 1-1. The Demon handed the Dogs a rare home loss 1-0 in 2014.

The Lakewood Rangers return nine lettermen from their District-finalist squad to continue their strong presence in the SWC. The offense features juniors Chris Kafley, Malvin Ghal and Attila Nagy. The Bulldogs travel to the turf pitch of Lakewood on Wed Aug 31st in search of their 1st ever win against the Rangers. Expect a typical SWC brawl between these conference foes. The Rangers played Falls to a draw last season in Olmsted Falls 1-1.

The North Ridgeville Rangers led by new head coach George Panagiotou return 12 letter winners for the 2016 season. Senior Goal Keeper Kyle Milner, along with Juniors Zack Smith and Jeremy Jackson leads a tough defensive squad that posted four shutouts in 2015. Juniors midfielders Gary Browning and forward Duke Crawford help provide offensive punch for the Rangers. Fans should expect a typical low scoring SWC battle between Olmsted Falls and the Rangers as the last two meetings yielded only 3 total goals. The Dogs squeaked by on a late PK in 2015 1-0.

The 2016 Springfield Blue Devils bring back 10 of 12 starters from a rebuilding 2015 season. Springfield has amassed over 55 wins the past five seasons, including a program record-setting season in 2014 with 14 wins and 66 goals scored. They feature an experienced central midfield led by senior and 2015 First Team All Northern Lakes League midfielder/forward Brian Bethel. The Blue Devils' central midfield is rounded out with last season's assist leader, senior Justin Briggs, and 2015 Second Team All Northern Lakes League midfielder/defender, senior Justin Sekerak. The Blue Devils' defense is anchored by center backs senior Mohammad Mahmoud and junior Reid Blakeman, as well as by junior goalkeeper Nick Woodard. The Blue Devils travel to Olmsted Falls in 2016 seeking to even the all-time series at 1-1.

The 2016 Comets return 10 of 11 starters from the 2015 team including three all-SWC honorees - Colin O'Connor (1st team), Joseph Yochheim (2nd team), and Kyle Mantin (honorable mention). Last year's Amherst backline consisted of four underclassmen in Yochheim, Mantin, Ben Biedenbach and Kameron Galindo and should form a solid foundation for the next two years. O'Connor led the team in scoring in 2015 with 10 goals and 4 assists. Ryan Sturgeon (All-Lorain County 2015) returns as team captain in 2016. The Comets invade the Olmsted Falls Soccer Complex in 2016 for another tough SWC match-up.

The MidPark Titans have won the SWC two of the last three seasons and return 9 letterman including SWC selections Danny Sasak, Adam Wade, and Jacob Rahe on the offensive end. The Titans feature Carter Muensterman and Nico Ruggeri to help GK Dominic Baglier anchor an always tough Titan defense. The Bulldogs fought to their 1st ever win against the Titans in the 2015 playoffs. The Titans host the Bulldogs on their premium turf pitch Wednesday September 14 in another SWC barnburner. The Titans handed the Bulldogs their only home loss last season 3-1.

Fans can expect a top notch battle on Strongsville's premium pitch in a rematch of the 2015 Halloween playoff game won by Strongsville in sudden death OT PK.

Senior Simon Liseski and Drew Wagner shore up the defense along with goalkeepers senior Zach Martin and sophomore Cole Thompson. The Middies invade Olmsted Falls for a September 21 showdown.

The 2016 Kenston Bombers return to the pitch with an entirely new look. Having graduated 9 seniors, the Bombers look to repeat as WRC Conference Champs and improve on their 2015 record. The Bombers played a rugged 2015 schedule; they were edged 2-1 to 2015 Ohio State Champion Saint Ignatius, 2-1 to Regional Semi-Finalist Strongsville, 1-0 to District Finalist Solon, and 2-1 to District Semi-Finalist Brunswick. The Bomber's finished 5-0-2 in Western Reserve Conference competition and took home the league title. The Bulldogs and Bombers have split their only two meetings in 2014-15 and the Bulldogs invade the turf pitch of Kenston on Sat September 26th 7pm. Expect another top notch battle!

The 2016 Howland Tigers return 9 out of 11 starters for the upcoming 2016 campaign. Last season, the Tigers posted 9 shutouts while only surrendering 14 goals through 18 games. Howland returns a potent attack this season led by 2nd team All-State selection David Schwartz and 1st Team All District selection Christopher Tvaroch. Together, the two were responsible for 40 goals a season ago. This will be the first meeting between the teams and has all the makings of a playoff caliber match as eastern power Howland Tigers come west to battle the Bulldogs in a late season match.

The Eagles bring back nine letter winners for the 2016 season. A strong 2nd half in 2015 reestablished the Eagles as a team to reckon with in the always tough SWC. The Eagle attack on offense features junior Jon Kramer, senior Keegan Welch, and senior Trevor Cairns. Goalkeeper Seamus Winchester backs up a defense led by Gabe Schreiner, Max Hess, and Ben Gebura. The Bulldog fans will be treated to another tough late season SWC battle with the playoffs right around the corner.

The 2015 season saw the Rangers race out to a 5-2-2 record behind a solid defense (GAA 1.33) then in tenth game of the season, the Rangers lost starting GK and Center Back to season ending injuries. Rangers finished a disappointing 1-5-2 (2.4 GAA) the rest of the season. The team will return the two key players lost to injury in 2016, as well as five other starters. The Rangers strengths lie in midfield and defense featuring all-league selections Junior Goalkeeper Dario Lukic, Senior Center Back Mike Nash, Senior Midfielders Brendan McArthur & Ivan Miljak. The Rangers come to Olmsted Falls to try to even the series at 1-1. The Dogs ground out a 2-0 win at Eastlake in 2015 in their 1st ever meeting between the schools.

The Avon Eagles start their 2nd year in the SWC with a roster of experienced young players who held their own in the rugged SWC last season. The Eagle offense starts with Junior Kenny Sipler and Trey Grudzien. The defense features Noah Linden and Joey Sobolewski and SWC selection Zach Hubbard. The Bulldogs travel to Joe Firment Stadium to tangle with the Eagles. The Eagles bested the Dogs 4-0 in 2014 on their turf. An exciting SWC match awaits fans from both schools.

The St. Edward Eagles return 16 lettermen for the 2016 season. The Eagles will feature a solid defense anchored by senior captain and GK Alex Dudley along with junior defender Richard Nsmbimana and Anthony Nauman. The Eagle attack will showcase junior captain and midfielder Tommy Paltani and senior forward Toby Comer who led team in scoring last year along with junior Patrick Gray and sophomore Dylan Wright in the midfield to round out a strong offensive unit. Paltani and Dudley are 3-year starters and were GCSSA All District Team honorable mention last year. The Bulldogs are excited to host the 1st ever visit to Olmsted Falls Soccer Complex by St. Edwards and with playoffs looming, the fans can expect an excellent soccer match.
