Metal Shears: Half Moon Blank

1 2Emboss a large 34mm CircleAltered Blank with ourDistressed TexturesDecoEmboss Die.

Use the Raku EffectTechnique, applying patinacolors in quarters (usingVintaj Emerald, Lapis, Ruby& Agate Patinas with aNouveau Silver MetallicPatina and Glaze wash).

3 4Use the dark gray side of MetalReliefing Block to highlight theraised areas of blank. Apply amixture of Nouveau SilverMetallic Patina and Glaze overcolors to create a shimmeringeffect.

Use Vintaj Metal Shears tocut the blank in half, leavingthe hole centered at either thetop or bottom. You will have2 equal half pieces. One witha hole at the rounded end andone without.

5 6Use a Vintaj Metal File toround corners and smoothsharp edges.

Place half moon blank facedown in a large opening ofa Vintaj Wooden DappingBlock. Place the roundedend of punching tool overblank and strike oppositeend with flat end of BallPein Hammer to dap.

7 8Use a fine tip black Sharpieto mark placement for holes a1/4″ from center hole onrounded side of blank. UseVintaj 1.5mm Hole PunchPliers to make holes.

Use the 1.5mm Hole PunchPliers to make holes at eachcorner of half moon blank.

9Repeat step 8 & 9 to completesecond blank, also making acenter hole. Each blankshould have a total of 5 holes.
