SALAH

Asr starts when the shadow is twice the length of the object (excluding the shadow when the sun is at its zenith) - According to Imam Abu Hanifah (ra.)

According to Imam Malik (ra) the time between single-length shadow and twice-long shadow is a Makhlut time (i.e. Zuhr or Asr may be performed.)

According to Imam Shafi'i, Imam Ahmad, Imam Muhammad, and Imam Abu Yusuf (ra), Asr starts when the shadow is single length.

There is a difference of opinion among the Imams whether Isha time begins when the red twilight disappears or when the white twilight disappears.

According to observations of majority of the scholars, the red twilight disappears at 15 degrees, and the white twilight disappears at 18 degrees.

There is another opinion that red twilight disappears at 12 degrees, and white at 15.

According to Umm Al-Qura, University of Islamic Sciences Karachi, Muslim World League, Egyptian General Authority of Survey, and observations of numerous scholars, the beginning of Fajr (true dawn) is at 18 degrees or earlier.
