2 contrasting fabrics - 1/8 yard eachLabel your fabrics #1and #2 (It doesn’t matter which way you label them) From each of the fabrics cut:(1) 3 7/8” x WOF stripCut (6) 3 7/8” squaresTrim remaining fabric down to 3 ½”Cut (4) 3 ½” squares

Block 9a. Take (3) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #1 and (3) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #2.Place one square of each fabric right sides together and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one of the squares. Pin. Stitch a scant ¼” away from both sides of the drawn line. Cut apart on the drawn line and you have two sewn half square triangle units! See diagram below. Repeat this process to yield six sewn half square triangle units.Take (2) 3 ½ squares from fabric #1 and (2) 3 ½” squares from fabric #2. Lay out your units as shown in Block 9a. diagram above and sew together.

Take (3) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #2 and (3) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #1.Place one square of each fabric right sides together and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one of the squares. Pin. Label your fabrics #1& #2 (It doesn’t make any difference which way you label them)

From each of the fabrics cut: (1) 3 7/8 inch strip.

Cut the strip of each color into (8) 3 7/8 inch squares

and (1) 3½ inch square 1.) Take (4) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #1 and (4) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #2. Place one square of each color right sides together and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one of the squares. Pin. Stitch a scant ¼ inch away from both sides of the drawn line. Cut apart on the drawn line and you have 2 sewn half square triangle units! Repeat this process to yield (8) sewn 3 inch finished half square triangle units. Lay your squares as shown (see block diagram above) with the 3 ½ inch square from fabric #1 in the center. 2.) Take (4) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #1 and (4) 3 7/8 squares from fabric #2. Place one square of each color right sides together and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one of the squares. Pin. Stitch a scant ¼ inch away from both sides of the drawn line. Double Up Where you make the same block twice using 2 different fabrics. Blocks will be

mirror images and 9 1/2 inches unfinished . There will be 24 different

patterns yielding 48 blocks for a finished quilt size of 54 x 72.
