The concept of time is self-evident. An hour consists of a certain number of minutes, a day of hours and a year of days. But we rarely think about the fundamental nature of time.

Time is passing non-stop, and we follow it with clocks and calendars. Yet we cannot study it with a microscope or experiment with it. And it still keeps passing. We just cannot say what exactly happens when time passes.

Time is represented through change, such as the circular motion of the moon around the earth. The passing of time is indeed closely connected to the concept of space.

According to the general theory of relativity, space, or the universe, emerged in the Big Bang some 13.7 billion years ago. Before that, all matter was packed into an extremely tiny dot. That dot also contained the matter that later came to be the sun, the earth and the moon – the heavenly bodies that tell us about the passing of time.

In order to investigate the nature of time it may help to break it down into four main questions.

1) How does time flow? 2) Does time flow in only one direction? 3) Is there a constant 'Universal' time? 4) Is time a 'real' dimension?

Page 9: Time: how could I describe you. discussion 1. what is time? 2. how could you spend your time? 3. describe one of the following: Most memorable

The Big Bang theory describes how the universe was created from the Big Bang singularity, where all matter and space is contained in a single point of infinite density. At the moment of creation of the universe - the Big Bang - all matter, space and time came into existence, before that time did not exist. Our universe could not exist without time, and time could not exist without the universe, they are different components of the one entity.

Time flies. Time flies so fast that you don't even realize

it's gone, until in a sudden moment of introspection, you stop, look around, and think, 'Where has the time gone?' And that's the truth. Time waits for no man. You may mope around for days, weeks, months, years, over a breakup, and expect everyone to pity you, but eventually, people have to move on. Things have to change, otherwise if the world around you changes, and you don't change, you'll be swept away. Even rocks in the sea get worn smooth by the crashing waves, and eventually become the sand on the seabed.

"The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today...today is a gift."

The most important thing is to be able to listen to your heart. To be able to change, externally, mature, grow, go with the flow, but at the core, you still know who you are. Rejoice in that you have today, stop regretting the past and worry not about the future, for it has yet to be shaped.

After all, time flies.

Traveling in Time You cannot change the laws of physics ... but could physics actua

lly enable us to travel through time? It might sound crazy, but according to Einstein's theories, there's no logical reason why time travel isn't possible. Time travel is clearly a trickier proposition than space travel, though. And prior to Einstein, it would have been deemed utterly impossible ! That's because the old idea about time was that it was like a cosmic metronome keeping a regular and constant beat throughout the universe. And it was thought to move in one direction only . However, what physicists now know is that time is rather more flexible than the old “ Clockwork Universe” ideas they had it. And it was Albert Einstein who set the cat among the pigeons.

Page 21: Time: how could I describe you. discussion 1. what is time? 2. how could you spend your time? 3. describe one of the following: Most memorable

Einstein's theories about time and space were revolutionary. Later, two experiments have been conducted which proves that not only is time “ warp-able” , but Einstein was arguably the greatest thinker the world has ever seen.

Page 22: Time: how could I describe you. discussion 1. what is time? 2. how could you spend your time? 3. describe one of the following: Most memorable

If it were possible, however, it would present some pretty knotty paradoxes... For example, what if someone or something traveled back in time and changed the ensuing future? And have you heard the one about the time traveller who dots back and forward in time and by means of various medical technologies is able to be his own father AND mother?! And besides, if time travel is possible, where are all the people from the future--surely they'd want to come and meet us poor stranded 21st century beings?

Youth

Youth is just like the little drops of water we find on the petals in the morning, clear and pure.it’s precious beacuse it will soon evaporate and disappear in the air.small as it is,it magnifies stripe of the petal;clear as it is,it shines with the sunshine, instantaneous as it is,it reflects the whole of the blue sky.I saw it roll down the petal and fell into tiny pieces.

Page 24: Time: how could I describe you. discussion 1. what is time? 2. how could you spend your time? 3. describe one of the following: Most memorable

I heard it permeate into the soil and irritate the root of the flower.tomorrow morning, there will be dew again on the petals, but did you ever know, that is not the one we found yesterday, just like the youth that slinked away and never return.how could I forget all these little drops of water, just like the days of youth that would keep in my mind for the rest of my life, perchance, when I think of it,I would know that I has evre been a juvenile as clear as the little drop of water.

Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind,it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees. It is a matter of the will, and it is the freshness of the deep spring of life. Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidy, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This of ten exits in a man of 60, more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows merely by the number of years, we grow old by deserting our ideas.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust . Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders ,the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope , cheer, courage and power from men and from infinite, so long as you are young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with the snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you've grown old ,even at 20,but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there's hope you may die young at 80.
