Raman Aneja Welcome District Governor Raman Aneja and First Lady Meenu Aneja District Governor Raman Aneja and District First Lady Meenu Rtn. Raman Aneja, a business graduate from Panjab University and an MBA from Delhi was born in a landlord family of village Brass in District Karnal of Haryana on 19 th February 1969. His father Mr. Ravinder Aneja is a highly respected citizen in the community who is a philanthropist and has deep concern for the poor and under privileged sections of society. His mother Mrs. Kanta Aneja, a pious soul is the backbone of the family who who possesses high spiritual background and has deep impact on her children and grand children. Raman began his Textile Exports business career in 1991 and achieved an unprecedented height in the world of business in a very short span of time and is now the Chairman & Managing Director of an ISO9001:2008 & SA8000 Great Eastern Group of Industries, a leading export house manufacturer, Importer & Exporter of Home Textile and Technical Textile. A member of Rotary Club Panipat Midtown since 2003-04, Raman became Club President in 2010-11 and since then has achieved many outstanding awards at the Club, Zone and District level for his meritorious service to the Rotary. He is a Major donor and is loved and respected in Rotary World for his exceptional leadership qualities and organizational capabilities. Raman is a well read person and has travelled globally. His positive thinking and philanthropist nature has inspired him to work for the downtrodden and less fortunate. The spirit of Rotary is dominant in family. His two younger brothers are also Rotarians who are excelling in business as well. All his family members are Paul Harris Fellows. He is happily married to Meenu, a devoted and charming life partner who supports Rotary ideals and takes keen interest in Rotary Service. The couple is blessed with a son and two daughters. Eldest son Siddharth is pursuing Marketing Business Degree from Indiana University, Indianapolis, USA, daughter Sonakshi is in the 3rd year of Business Graduation Course at Singapore Institute of Management, Suhani, the youngest daughter is studying at The Lawrence School Sanawar. Club Assembly In our regular meeting on May 12, 2017 President Rtn. Amarjit Singh was pleased to welcome the Chief Guest, Assistant Governor Rtn. Deepak Sood for the Club Assembly, which precedes the Official Visit of District Governor. AG Deepak Sood PP Rtn. Dr. V.J.S. Vohra introduced AG Deepak Sood as the 37 th President of Rotary Chandigarh Midtown, having joined our club in 2007. Born on 20 th October 1960 at Delhi, on Diwali day, he was rightly named Deepak by his parents. After graduating from Panjab University, Deepak did his post graduation in Marketing Management as well as in Personnel Management from Dr. Rajindra Parsad Institute of Communication and Management, Mumbai. He is an IT Professional, associated with the world renowned companies like Siemens, Motorola, Panasonic and Honeywell. Deepak is the owner of Telecom Systems (India) in Sector 20, Chandigarh. Married to Purnima, they have two lovely talented daughters. Shivani has done MCA & MBA, is married and working in New York, USA. Shikha has done BTech & MBA, and she is Consultant with a company (KPMG) in Gurgaon. Rtn. AG Deepak Sood started his address by thanking Dr. V.J.S. Vohra for bringing him to Rotary. He said he would like to take the opportunity of appreciating Dr. Vohra for the wonderful job for our bulletin by presenting the good work done by the Directors and Rotarians, and complimented him as our editor.

Deepak said, “I am proud of being a member of Rotary Chandigarh Midtown, and it is an honour for me to attend the meeting as AG.” He also thanked PDG Shaju Peter for his support. He appreciated the work done under all the avenues of service, and complimented all the Directors for their dedication and contribution, and also acknowledged the way we conduct our meetings and projects. He also gave valuable advice to the President and Secretary for the DG’s visit.
