Impact inside wildlife sanctuary is higher then past decade in Hukaung valley, so that tiger move to adjacent areas

National Goals for Tiger ConservationThe priority actions necessary in

the short-term Establish protected area, protected

corridors and priority management areas in and around of both sites

Implement continuous monitoring programs for tiger and its prey population

Train government staff in anti poaching and anti – trafficking techniques

Suppress all killing of tigers and illegal trade in tiger products conservation

Define roles and responsibilities of field staff

Targeted Actions towards tiger conservation in 2013-2014

Some Targeted Actions for 2013-2014 Promote field facilities for patrolling and

research activities such as camera traps, camera, GPS, ration, allowance, etc. in three TLCs

Introduce Management Information System to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement planning and threat monitoring system in Htamanthi WS

Apply Smart Green Infrastructure in Hukaung Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and Dawei Deep Sea Port Project near Taninthary TLCs

Develop Community Based Natural Resource Management and Green Ecotourism for livelihood development among local communities near TLCs

Targeted Actions towards tiger conservation in 2013-2014

Some Targeted Actions for 2013-2014 (cont.) Produce a series of wildlife documentary of

HWS by (BBC-Natural History) with preliminary surveys.

Continuously conduct education and awareness raising program in HVWS, HWS, and TNR to cover at least 70 villages a year

Adapt different educational media, such as talks, dramas, and village and school programs to suit local needs in HVWS, HWS and TNR.

Develop an action plan for monitoring the implementation of NTRP
