    Issued by National Bureau of Standards of the People's Republic of China

    (Standardization Administration of the Peoples Repuli of China SAC at present)

    1. Inspection of yellow-colored rice in paddy

    1.1 Apparatus and Tools

    1.1.1 Scale: accurate to 0.01 g;

    1.1.2 Laboratory rice polisher;

    1.1.3 Analytical scale, tweezers, etc.

    1.2 Procedure

    After husked rice yield of grain is detected, mill the husked rice in a laboratory rice

    polisher into Grade 2 rice with its processed degree similar to the indicator

    requirement specified in relevant standard. Weigh (W) the husked rice as test sample

    after removing the husk powder. Sort out the yellow-colored rice according to

    relevant requirement and weigh (W1).

    1.3 Calculation of Result

    Calculate the percentage of yellow-colored rice in paddy according to formula (1) : yellow coloured rice % = 1 Where:

    W1 is the weight of the yellow-colored rice, in the unit of gram. W is the weight of the sample, in the unit of gram.

    The acceptable difference of two testing results is no more than 0.3%. Average two

    results as the final inspection result. The figure of the final result is rounded to the

    first decimal place.

  • 2 Inspection of yellow-colored rice in rice

    2.1 Procedure

    Weigh 50 g rice as test sample or sort out the yellow-colored rice during inspection

    of broken rice, weigh as W1

    2.2 Calculation and Result

    Calculate the percentage of yellow-colored rice in rice according to formula (2): yellow coloured rice % = 1

    Where:

    W1 is the weight of the yellow-colored rice, in the unit of gram. W is the weight of the sample, in the unit of gram.

    The acceptable difference of two testing results is no more than 0.3%. Average two

    results as the final inspection result. The figure of the final result is rounded to the

    first decimal place.

    3 Inspection of cracked kernels

    Husked rice with crack named cracked kernel or crackle rice.

    Procedure: After husked rice yield of grain is detected, sort out 100 rice kernels

    randomly, pick out rice with crack with magnifier. Calculate the percentage of cracked

    kernels based on the number of rice with crack in 100 rice kernels identified.
