Tree of Life Lighting CeremonyThe Tree of Life is illuminated each holiday season during a special ceremony, and lights can be purchased in memory or honor of a family member or friend. The tree lighting ceremony includes a candle-light service, live music, a complimentary meal and a visit from Santa. A Day For Divas at Cook Medical CenterThis fun and informative event takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October each year. Lung Cancer ScreeningLung cancer is easiest to treat when found early. Patients can have annual low-dose CT scans at Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) to detect early stage lung cancer much like mammography is used to detect early stages of breast cancer. This affordable screening program is available to people ages 55—80 who have smoked at least an average of one pack a day for 30 years. This includes current smokers or smokers who quit within the past 15 years. The total cost to patients for the scan is $198. Tifton - NICE CLUBOpen to people age 55 and over, the TRMC NICE Club is free and offers special programs and hospital discounts for seniors. Membership benefi ts include private hospital rooms at semi-private room rates (based on availability) and discounts to the TRMC cafeteria. While receiving care at the hospital, NICE Club mem-bers also receive one coupon for a free meal for a special visitor. MissionThe mission of Tift Regional Health System’s Community Spirit program is to contribute to the well-being and de-velopment of our community through outreach efforts, in-cluding preventive health education, screenings, wellness programs and corporate and employee contributions.Tift Regional Community Events Center and YMCA CollaborationIn a unique collaboration, the Tiftarea YMCA and the Tift Regional Community Events Center share a state-of-the-art building facility in Tifton at 1657 South Carpenter Road. The Tiftarea YMCA offers a wide-range of health, exercise and fi tness services. Participation in YMCA pro-grams offer opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, self-confi dence and improved mental abilities, not to mention the obvious health benefi ts of healthy heart, lungs, bones, and muscles. The Tift Regional Community Events Center is operated by the hospital for educational seminars, screenings and other wellness events.
