MODAL VERBS
MODAL VERBS
Recordemos algunos ejemplos:
-The engineers have to solve the problem
Los ingenieros tienen que solucionar el problema. -The solution can be economical.
La solución puede ser económica.-We might buy some spare parts
Nosotros podríamos comprar algunos repuestos.
MODAL VERBS
Veamos las funciones de estos modales:
-The engineers have to solve the problem
Los ingenieros tienen que solucionar el problema.
obligación externa-The solution can be economical.
La solución puede ser económica.
posibilidad-We might buy some spare parts
- Nosotros podríamos comprar algunos repuestos.
posibilidad remota
MODAL VERBS
MODAL + Infinitive
Otros ejemplos:
- Modales de probabilidad:
can – could – may – might
- Modales de obligación:
Must – have to – ought to – should
TIEMPOS VERBALES
PRESENT PAST FUTURE
SIMPLE
CONTIN.
FUTURE SIMPLE
Volvamos al ejemplo de la válvula
The valve will open the path of gases.
The valve will open.
FUTURE SIMPLE
PRESENT PAST FUTURE SIMPLE The valve will open the path of gases The valve will open
CONTINUOUS

FUTURE SIMPLE

Transforma la oración The valve will open the path of gases
FUTURE CONTINUOUS
Compara tu respuesta:
The valve will be opening the path of gases
MODAL+ inf
y luego sumó el Verbo en -ing
FUTURE TENSES
Simplemente agregando NOT al verbo modal WILL
The valve will not open the path of gases.
The valve will not open.
The valve will not be opening the path of gases.
The valve will not be opening.
La contracción de WILL NOT es WON’T
FUTURE TENSES
FUTURE TENSES
Future Simple:
The valve will (not) open the path of gases.
The valve will (not) open
La válvula (no) se abrirá
Future Continuous:
The valve will (not) be opening the path of gases.
The valve will (not) be opening.
La válvula (no) se estará abriendo
FUTURE TENSES
¿Cómo se formará la pregunta?
Simplemente comenzando con WILL
Will the valve open the path of gases?
¿Abrirá la válvula el paso de gases?
Will the valve open?
¿Se abrirá la válvula?
Will the valve be opening the path of gases?
Will the valve be opening?
¿Se estará abriendo la válvula?
FUTURE TENSES
Falta una última aclaración:
En algunas ocasiones en vez del
modal WILL encontrarás SHALL
(expresión de futuro que quedó del
inglés antiguo)
