Thursday, January 3, 2013 Dear Families: We wish all the members of our John Paul II School Community a Blessed New Year and welcome back! The students came back to a computer lab with new equipment purchased with our technology funds as well as monies from our annual fund. Monitors with speakers as well as headsets had been purchased in September and all finally arrived. We also purchased licenses for Microsoft Office 2010 updating our current technology. Have you completed your SMART financial aid form? All families are encouraged to fill this form out. You can do this by going to www.smarttuitionaid.com . Our school code is 10377. As of January 1, 2013, there is a $10 application fee. Please use this year’s tuition rates when completing the form. SMART will adjust all applications when they are notified of our rates for the 2013-2014 school year. If you would like a paper application, please call the Main Office and we will be happy to send one home. The winter weather has arrived. Our students will go out at lunchtime and need to be dressed appropriately. Coats, gloves/mittens, and hats will keep them warm!! Also we have a regulation gym uniform which must be purchased from Sandoval. Students may not wear yoga pants. If your child is cold they can wear the grey sweatshirt with our school name. Students are not permitted to layer multiple t-shirts of different colors. Please refer to our school calendar for uniform guidelines. Effective immediately, we are implementing a policy regarding our former students visiting our school. If they wish to visit, they must contact the school in advance and set up an appointment. Also they may not stay any longer than an hour. With recent events in the news, we are looking at several of our procedures keeping in mind the safety of our students and staff. My staff and I will continue to be very observant if you notice suspicious activity around our school please feel free to contact us at 783-3088. Just a reminder tomorrow is a 1PM dismissal. Please join us for our First Friday Liturgy at 9 AM, which has been prepared by our 5 th Grade students. Don’t forget each month’s Hot Lunch Menu and ticket form is available on our website and the Homework Now page. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Helen Persing Principal
