OBITUARIES

Mary (Gardner Bahr) Rowland passed into another life on November 14,

2006. She was born February 11, 1921 to Guy Gardner and Lena (Babe)

Bouley near Clifton, KS. She had two brothers, two sisters, and a step sister: Raymond, Doran, Maxine, Ada Mae & Juneita. Mary had four daughters: Marearl Denning, Overland Park, KS,

Carol Grieb, Lawrence, KS, Linda (Bahr) Scott, Co Spgs, CO, and Chel-ley (Bahr) Gardner-Smith, Co Spgs,

CO. Mary rejoiced in her 12 Grand-children and 17 Grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her home-

town sweetheart, Earl A. Bahr, her sis-ters, Ada Mae and Juneita, Grand-

daughter, Sheryl Lynn Bergeson, and nephew, Phillip Branfort.

Mary worked in civil service at Fort Riley and later at Fort Carson in the

office of the comptroller. She retired in 1985 and moved back to Clifton in 1991. Mary was a gifted artist, an en-thusiast of life, and had a great sense

of humor. She was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters , the Demo-

cratic Party, the St. Mary’s Altar Soci-ety, and the Clifton American Legion

Auxillary. Mary had a sustaining faith that provided her comfort and direction

throughout her life.A Celebration of Life and Resurrection

Mass was held for Mary at the St Mary’s Church in Clifton on Novem-ber 17, 2006. Memorials can be sent to “Mary Rowland Memorial Fund;”
