Dear Members We sent you an early heads-up 3 weeks ago on our annual press club game, now called the Press Club-CIMB Golf Classic, to ensure you have enough time to plan on joining us for the event. We are grateful to those who registered early. If you have yet to sign up, we would like to urge you to do so soon, so that we can decide on slots for guests and corporate flights. To recap, our 6th annual Press Club golf competition will be held at the recently renovated Sembawang Country Club on Thursday, 22 August. CIMB has agreed to be our title sponsor for three years and the organising team is planning another memorable event this year. Members are again given an offer hard to refuse – a golfing competition plus lunch and dinner, and a chance at all the prizes, for only $108. Members can invite guests at a special price of $238. Please do invite your guests – we will try to accommodate all requests to form your own flights. Corporate flights are also available at $1,200 per flight, where there will be no requirement to have a member on the flight.

This year's event looks to be even better than in previous years. Apart from CIMB, our other regular sponsors – Emirates, Cerebos and Singapore Turf Club – have confirmed their continued participation at our annual. We will have two Hole-in-One sponsors – Daimler and Breitling – and we wish participants the best of luck in this year's event. More sponsorships are being secured. The current sponsors are listed in the attachment. As usual we will end the day with a sumptuous dinner, which non-golfing members and guests are also invited to attend. Non-golfing members can join our dinner event at $30 per head and non-golfing guests will be charged $50 per head. As with past practice, all diners will also be eligible for our lucky draw prizes. Members will recall that we announced the start of a Golf League (GL) among club members at the annual last year. We had a busy schedule through the year with 7 events in total. The final GL event was held at the Seletar Country Club on the 24th July and the league champion and runners-up will be announced at our annual game. Meanwhile, we look forward to your early registration and will update you with more details nearer the competition date – including the Guest-of-Honour and the list of participants.
