Parent Portal Update including Android and Apple appDue to the migration, all parents will have to reactivate their parent portal accounts by following the steps on this page. http://www.lpgs.bromley.sch.uk/1221/parent-portalYou can also download the Firefly for Parents app from the App Store or the Google Play Store. These pages provide a basic introduction to the apps:Getting started (Android/Apple)Bookmarks (Android/Apple)Messages (Android/Apple)You will require our school code to log in for the first time. This is LPGS.

Firefly MigrationWe have successfully migrated our Firefly system to the cloud. This should improve the performance of the system during busy times.Students have been sent the new instructions for logging in (the last reminder was sent on 20/01/20 at 7.00am).

Why should I log in to the parent portal? The parent portal gives you access to your child’s timetable, tasks, behaviour logs and attendance as well as access to subject areas containing lesson resources and other important information. In the future we will be sharing trip letters, consent forms and our medical form via Firefly so will need at least one parent/carer in each household to activate their account so they can access these documents easily when required.

Fairtrade

Did you know that 50% of the UK's food comes from overseas?

Many of the products that you have in your kitchen cupboard have

been on quite a journey! Crossing seas and land, your food

products might have spent time on a truck, lorry or ship before

ending up on your plate.

In this week's Home Learning Challenge, we are thinking about the

journey that your products have gone on before reaching the

supermarket shelves. Start by watching our short Fairtrade Schools film 'A Fair Story'.

Nature in your neighbourhood

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS BY CREATING A SHORT FILM

We want children and young people to create a short film and use nature and their surroundings in an engaging and creative way, to capture the calmness and document something they've noticed or appreciated while spending more time in their local area. Whether it's in the garden, the local park, or even from inside the home, the natural world is all around us.

Encourage children to get creative and use their natural surroundings to make a short film, 3 mins or under in length (including titles and credits) using what equipment you have in the home. Films can be made on a mobile phone, tablet or camera, and we have a range of filmmaking resources to help support you.

Etymology of …Clue

• According to Greek mythology, when Theseus entered the Labyrinth to kill the minotaur (a half-man, half-bull), he unravelled a "clew" — a ball of string — behind him, so he could find his way back.

• The word "clue" didn't even exist until the mid-1500s when people started to vary the spelling of "clew."
