About Workshop

Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) is an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the University

Grants Commission (UGC). The objectives of the Centre are to modernize libraries and information centres for

information transfer and access, to support scholarship, learning and academic pursuit by establishing a

national network of libraries and information centres in universities, institutions of higher learning and R & D

institutions in India. Creation of national union database (IndCat), development of an integrated library

management software (SOUL 2.0), human resource development, on-site training, providing bibliographic

information services, extending technical help and guidance from time to time to academic libraries in

automation and networking are some of the major activities of the Centre. The Centre provides access to e-

resources and Internet connectivity to universities under the UGC-Infonet connectively programme and

UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium. The Centre also provides access to 6,000+ e-journals and 97,000+ e-

books to the colleges in India though programme entitled "National Library and Information Services

Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)".

Learning through an electronic devices such as computer, smartphone, tablet, over internet or Intranet, is

referred as electronic learning (e-learning). With advent of information and communication technology the

content is being generated and delivered in electronic form and it is easily accessible to all the stakeholders

using different electronic gadgets as well as desktop based application. The rapid growth in the e-content

development using web technology and its ever increasing usage has given an unprecedented opportunities to

the educators to extend learning material to the learners not only within the four walls of class rooms but also

in the comforts of their home all over the globe. The INFLIBNET Centre is organising three-day workshop on

“E-Learning: Content Creation and Hosting using MOODLE” during May 06-08, 2015 at INFLIBNET Centre,

Gandhinagar. The Workshop includes lectures as well as extensive hands-on training which will provide both

theoretical and practical exposure to the participants. The Workshop will provide exhaustive information on

e-learning, electronic content creation and its hosting . It will enable participant to know about the

electronic content generation, content management, learning management system, etc. The

participants will get fair idea about MOODLE learing management system (LMS) & its customization.

Moreover, the workshop will provide extensive hands-on training on installation and configuration of LMS.

The Workshop intends to provide exhaustive information and hands-on training on e-learning, learning

management system as well as tools to create interactive e-learning management system. Academicians,

library professionals working in university/colleges who are interested in e-learning and electronic content

creation, information scientists, system administrators, content developers and others with similar domain.

The resource persons are eminent IT professionals / researchers / scientists and experts in the domain.

The application for admission to the programme should be submitted in the enclosed prescribed form/online

to INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar on or before April 30, 2015.

The registration fee is Rs. 3,000.00 (Rupees three thousand only) per person without accommodation and Rs.

4,500 (Rupees Four thousand and Five Hundred only) with accommodation.

*Please note that Service Tax would be extra at the rate of 14.% on the above amount.

The Amount inclusive of service tax would be Rs.3,420 and Rs.5,130 respectively. It covers the cost of training

programme kit containing training materials, breakfast, lunch, dinner, two time tea & snacks during the

sessions. The payment should be made through Demand Draft in favour of INFLIBNET Centre payable at

Gandhinagar along with filled-in registration form and fee is nonrefundable and non-adjustable.

The participants will be accommodated (during training period) in the INFLIBNET Guest House on twin-

sharing, chargeable basis. The participants must send prior intimation and charges for accommodation along

with registration fees. The accommodation will be a provided on first come first basis.

The Charges of accommodation of accompanying person will be separate.

Duration: The duration of workshop is three days.
