The idea behind this is to bridge the gap between several different ideas. The primary gap to bridge across is the age gap (both in a social and emotional level) by bringing together people of all ages in order to form one community . This idea of bridging the gap can be extended to other key concepts on the site such as bringing together recreation and education as well as culture and moderniza- tion, nature and culture, people and nature. This metaphor for bridges will be tangibly reflected in the use of physical bridges on the site. My goal for the site is for Kershaw to become one community that encompasses all ages, the environment, and local culture and character. 11
