Are you talking about the small municipal airport or the place 10 mins the Tulum-Coba road where there ismore than 50 machines and semi trucks that have thegovernment seal on the side of them?

Well, that sounds like the typical clash between thestate region and federal authority doesn't it? When weowned La Zebra profepa and semenart would always

come down and post the black clausurado stickers onour projects, when we went to the federal level they"knew" nothing of it. So we just built the project spitethe threats, then payed the right person on the federallevel and it all went away. In a way it is kind of interesting how there is still power on the state levelunlike here in the states.

 But it is worth it!

You know, after speaking with someone today, what he had to say really rang true. When Profepa puts those Clasurado signs on the entry of the airport,

The Press can go wild and make headlines that scareinvestors and current property owners. We in Tulum, know that the airport is a very delicate term that has been the center of great speculation for the last 6years. However, just as we did at "La Zebra" ASUR will do at the airport. Once the airport is ready for  business the Clasurado signs will come off, the press

will patch up the same situation that they once portrayed as "iffy and risky business." The investorswill return only to find the property values at the mid-high point where only nominal gains can be achieved, mean while the people who knew about and

encourage this type of strategy made those $4-9/m2 purchases when the market down and will then salethe property at a new "wholesale" rate to largedevelopers for $35-$99usd/m2.

jmcgowan ...I am interested in the news on theairport but can't find any information on it. I knowthat eventually it will be built. You said (basically)in your post that ASUR will be running it. I check Asur's site all the time and they don't have any press releases saying they have the contract and

they are very good about that. Maybe I am missingit. Where did your information come from?

jmcgowan...Calm down for a minute. I am in noway trying to get you banned from any web site. Iappreciate all knowledge that is brought to this board and you seem to have some that you arewilling to share. I appreciate that but I don't think it

is right for you to advertise here. Enough of that.

I am interested in the airport situation. I alreadyknow(so I have been told) where it is going to be built and what the government paid for the property.

My friend lives in Macario Gomez and boughtejido land. Problems at first but all seems to besettled now that the title was issued. It took a while. Some didn't get separate titles so that is still an

issue. Anyway, the president, leader, or what ever you call him came over and we had a few beers. We talked about the airport and he told us what heknew. I am just interested in the progress that isgoing on as I have been considering buying someejido land myself outside of Tulum off the Cobaroad. I'll find out more when I am down there in alittle over 3 weeks.

Chill out a little. People trying to make money getto stressed out.

I'm calm now. It's really not about making money. Iam so used to being so frustrated and high strung, Iget so tired of arguing across the table with the actualguys that are developing these types of "super  projects" and the guys that keep it "under wraps," and

how arrogant they are because they think they haveeveryone fooled, only to realize I just did basicallythe same thing (arrogant.) Another contributing factor is probably the fact that aside from these 1700 ha of ejido land (all together in mexico) I am 23. I getstressed out. I keep having to remind myself that I amnot talking with the same type of people here. I amgoing to build the Airport article with exploits oneach player involved and how the construction process in coming along. No rants of mine, just facts, when it is completed, I will post it here.
