Andrew’s Family and Friends

Those special memories of you

will always bring a smile,

if only I could have you back for just a little while.

Then we could sit and talk again,

just like we used to do,

you always meant so very much,

and always will do too.

The fact that you're no longer here,

will always cause me pain,

but you're forever in my heart, until we meet again.

We, the family of Andrew Patterson, sincerely thank everyone for their

expressions of sympathy, love and kindness rendered during this time of

bereavement. May God continue to keep and bless you.

For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth

there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall

give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

II Timothy 4: 6-8 (KJV)

Mr. Andrew Patterson, affectionately

known as “Slick”, was born August 7,

1952 in Columbia, South Carolina to

the late John M. Patterson, Sr. and

Roxie Jacobs Patterson. He departed

this life on Tuesday, September 12,

2017 at the William Jennings Bryan

Dorn VA Medical Center.

Andrew attended the public schools in Richland County, South Carolina.

On October 6, 1970, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he

served valiantly in Vietnam. After serving his country, he worked for

Mayflower and United Smith Dray Lines to provide for his family.

Slick loved cooking out and spending time with family and friends in

“Frogtown”. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan! Those who knew him

well know that he was a man of few words; but when he spoke, he was

straightforward.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife of 28

years, Jeroyln L. Patterson; five daughters: Andrena Hill, Rachel E.

Patterson, Courtney Patterson, and his two baby girls, Roshonda

(Johnny) Glasgow and Rebekah A. Patterson; two sons, André Jermaine

Patterson and Andrew Joseph Patterson; four sisters: Patricia (Tom)

Myers, Estelle Geter, Gladys (Earl) Scott and Maple (John) Kimble; and

five brothers: Ronyal Jacobs, John (Denise) Patterson, Jr. Phillip

(Miriam) Patterson, Charlie Patterson and Floyd Patterson, all of

Columbia, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren and one great-

grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and

dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Andrew was predeceased by his brother,

Terry Patterson, and sister, Ada Randolph.

God saw you getting tired

and a cure was not to be

so he put his arms around you

and whispered,

"Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you

and saw you pass away

and although we love you dearly

we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating

hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.
