Here at Second Baptist Church, we’re committed to leading people into a deep and meaningful relationship with the Lord. We want to encourage you to faithfully connect, grow, and serve. You connect by building deep and lasting relationships and participating faithfully in worship. You grow through developing spiritual depth in your relationship with the Lord and others by faithfully participating in Life Groups. You serve by engaging in ministry within the church and in mission beyond the church.
If we can serve you or your family today, please do not hesitate to let us know. As we worship together, we hope you feel at home. Should the Lord lead you to connect with us, we’ll welcome you with open arms!
God Bless,
Pastor Jim Perdue
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
We believe salvation and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for all people and comes through the repentance of sin, and belief in Jesus Christ’s death on our behalf as sinners. We believe this is the only way to come into a relationship with a Holy God.
We believe the Holy Spirit comes to indwell the believer upon your profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, therefore enabling the Christian to live a godly life.

Legacy Project We are hosting, through the Georgia Baptist Convention, a convenient way for you to meet with an attorney and discuss a Basic Will, a Living Will, and a Power of Attorney here on campus. We offered this last year and many of you said you appreciated the idea but were unable to come and wanted us to hold another time. These meetings are scheduled for October 30th and 31st in the Family Life Center. Times are scheduled for 45 minutes in order to give you the best amount of time to discuss your desires as well as your concerns. The other great thing about The Legacy Project is you have the ability to leave a legacy through our church and missions. Please reserve your spot at the Welcome Center today!
Upward SponsorshipWe have some children each year who would love to play basketball or be a cheerleader but they are unable to afford it. If you are able to sponsor a child for either of these, please designate your contribution for Upward Sponsorship on one of the envelopes in front of you. This will definitely bless a child!
Appalachia Backpacks We are still collecting Backpacks for Appalachia! These go specifically to those living along the Appalachia Trail. Families are living in immense poverty not even able to buy essentials for their children. This is a great way to provide a small gift and be a blessing at the same time! Go to missiongeorgia.org to get more info. Backpacks are due October 31st.
Church Conference Next Sunday, October 30th, we will have our quarterly Church Conference meeting after the evening service. Make you plans to attend.
Greater Things Event Tonight we will host our Greater Things Fellowship at the property on 96 beginning at 3:00 PM. This will be a fall festival type atmosphere with snacks and refreshments, hayrides, games for the kids, and a specific prayer emphasis time. This will be a fantastic time to physically see the land and the vision for all the people we hope to reach. Please bring your own chair if you would like to come hang out but may not want to participate in the games or hayride.
FCA Fields of Faith Please join us at Perry High School for Fields of Faith at 7:00 PM this Wednesday, October 26th. It will be an incredible night of worship, encouragement, and challenge as local students pack the Panther Pit. Fields of Faith challenges students to commit to read their Bible daily, live a transformed life for Jesus Christ, and change their culture.
Irish Christmas We are so excited to host Keith and Kristyn Getty with us on December 11th at 7:30 PM here in the main Worship Center! They will join with our adult choir for an Irish Christmas! We have tickets available to purchase through our website, secondfamily.tv. Childcare is not provided.
Operation Christmas Operation Christmas Child has officially started! We have a table in the Grand Lobby with boxes, labels, and brochures. Make sure you stop by and check it out! We will be collecting boxes until November 16th. Our goal is 1,000 shoeboxes! We can do it church! Remember, each box represents a child, a family, and a community. This is a small gesture we can do to impact the Kingdom of God. Let’s serve the nations!
Our Family Night Supper begins at 4:30 PM every Wednesday night in the Family Life Center. The cost is $4 per adult and $3 per child with a max cost of $15 per family.
THIS WEEK’s MENU WILL BE: Roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, potato/salad bar, biscuits, & dessert. The kids menu is the same.
