The ACMPR 2016HOW DOES THE ACCESS TO CANNABIS FOR MEDICAL PURPOSESREGULATIONS (THE ACMPR) LEGISLATION AFFECT YOU?

OUR MISSION

Choice. Care. Compassion. GrowLegally is committed to our patients’ right to self-treat chronic illnesses and disabilities naturally with high-quality medical grade cannabis.

We set the industry standard in patient services and work side by side with you to meet your needs as a medical cannabis patient, from obtaining a license, to finding a doctor, and compassion subsidies for those in need.

Our client services team and physicians serve our patients in a manner that is progressive, compassionate, and judgement free.

AUGUST 24, 2016 marked an exciting turning point for Canadian medical cannabis patients and craft growers, as Health Canada introduced new regulations governing its use and production. Following the groundbreaking Allard v. Canada decision by the the Federal Court of Canada, the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) adopted the older Medical Marihuana Access Regulations (MMAR) system and combined it with the Marihuana for Medical Purpose Regulations (the MMPR), allowing licensed patients to either grow for themselves, or designate another person to grow on their behalf. For more information and to read the full regulations click here.

GrowLegally is committed to our patients’ right to access strain specifc medicine of the highest quality, tailored to their condition, at rates they can afford. Having the option of personal production benefits medical cannabis patients in many ways, particularly in terms of access and cost effciency. Personal production costs are typically an affordable 10% - 20% of the average cost to patients when purchasing at standard market rates. As a personal producer, you also have access to the additional therapeutic benefits of constant access to natural and organically grown alternative medicine, and the satisfaction one gains from self-suffcient and autonomous self-care.

To meet the demands of the growing number of people seeking to medicate with cannabis, Health Canada has recently made accredited laboratories designed for the purposes of testing medical cannabis available to licensed growers (both personal and designated). This was previously available only to large commercial licensed producers. This gives all medical cannabis patients and producers a standardized means of measuring the quality and safety of the medicine they consume and produce.

With the legal uncertainties of medical cannabis production finally being lifted, GrowLegally and our patients are at the forefront of innovating current medical and health practices. We are dedicated to offering a wide range of support services that promote and ensure the continued accessibility of quality medicinal cannabis to everyone seeking the benefits of alternative natural healthcare.

GrowLegally Addresses Health Canada Claims with the Quality of Life Clinical Studies

HEALTH CANADA AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF CANADA have released official statements suggesting that residential grow operations could pose significant health and safety risks to the general public. The health concerns cited included risk of fire, mould, escaping odours and chemical contamination, along with broader reaching social claims like increases in crime due to increased risk of theft, and blackmarket activity.

GrowLegally’s Quality of Life Clinical Study seeks to not only address these concerns and to contribute to the development of future policy, but to also call into question the more limiting and stigmatizing claims made by government agencies addressing residential and small-scale growing operations. Removing the stigma associated with being a small-scale, home, or personal producer has a number of desirable social effects -- in particular: accessible medical treatment that is home-grown, changing outdated attitudes thus reducing liability for prescribing physicians, and allowing small-scale ‘craft growers’ to participate in the future of Cannabis development in Canada.

The Quality of Life Clinical Study is an ongoing longitudinal study jointly carried out with GrowLegally affiliated patients, producers, and physicians in an effort to contribute to the growing body of knowledge concerning medical cannabis, and its production and use in clinical and alternative health practices. All of our clients are automatically enrolled in our clinical study and will complete periodic progress reports, which will be jointly administered and reviewed by GrowLegally, participating healthcare professionals, Health Canada accredited laboratories, and industry technical specialists. GrowLegally will ensure client participation is effortless and will assist patients in completing these reports should they require support. Areas of interest will include: patient health safety and efficacy, safety technical growing practices, chemical potency and purity, as well as socioeconomic and cultural issues.

All GrowLegally’s medical cannabis clients — both patients and producers — enjoy the additional benefit of knowing they have constant access to quality, whether that is strain specific medicine matched to their medical conditions, or standardized, carefully monitored growing procedures developed by industry experts.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

All medicine produced by GrowLegally growers must be tested to ensure potency and our patients are consuming safe medicine free of contamination and harmful pesticides. The information gathered is vital to the research that is needed to prove that Craft Growers can satisfy the standards made by Health Canada and The College of Physicians.

P A T I E N T S

All patients will participate in ongoing completion of our progress reports. Their data will be reviewed by our advising physicians who will perform ongoing assessments of their health status as well as documenting qualititativeinterviews and individual case studies on an ongoing basis. These reports will be administered such that they impose no burden on our patients, but rather give them a voice in the future development of health and safety policy.

P H Y S I C I A N S

Physicians will play a criticalpart in the administration, review, and analysis of thestudy, as they monitor anddocument patient needs as a whole, creating a clearer and authoritative picture of patient health concerns, progress, and information pertinent to future policy development in Canada. Our participating physicians setthe stage for progressive attitude changes towards medical cannabis use in clinical practice.
