TRANSCRIPT

This tutorial will show you how to properly attach the device library to a library you have created. This will be necessary for creating any layouts.

To start, open the terminal and start icfbusing the command “icfb &”

This will open up icfb along with the Cadence Library Manager.

To create a new library go to File > New > Library…

Name your new library, for this tutorial I will be workingwith the attach_examplelibrary that I have createdhere

You will get this pop-up once you create a library. It is possible to attach the techfilefrom here but I have found that this does not always work properly.

For this tutorial select either “Don’t need a techfile” or “Cancel”

Now your new library will show up in the Cadence Library Manager

From here go to the icfbwindow and clickTools > Technology File Manager…

This window will pop-up. You want to select “Attach…”

Another window will appear that looks like this. You want to make sure that the “Design Library” field is the library you wish to attach the techfileto (i.e. the one you created).

You will also need to change the“Technology Library” field to“s8pet_dv” as that is the devicelibrary that will allow you to create layouts.

Click “OK” and you’re finished!
