SVP Advent Appeal For Homeless and Disadvantaged people in

Our Local Community This Christmas

Please try to collect as many items as you can and bring the bag back on the 4th Sunday of Advent, which is Sunday 18th December. We will deliver the bags to the Friary and London Road Hostel and hampers to those in need within our community.

PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2017

Next Year’s Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be from June 10th– June 17th 2017 and will cost £550 per pilgrim. The Pilgrimage is by coach with an overnight stay on the outward and return journeys and full board in the Hotel Irlande. Please contact Fr. John for a Booking Form and further information.

THE BECKET SCHOOL CHRISTMAS MARKET

There will be over 20 stalls featuring cosmetics, crafts, cards and much more. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening. The market will finish with our annual Advent Liturgy at 7:30pm.

All proceeds will be going to the ‘Building Hope in

Bunkpurugu’ which involves building a school in Ghana. It is the same charity that our Parish Christmas Fayre supported.

Faith in Familes 2016 Toy Appeal -

Faith in Families provides hampers of toys and food for

children under 11 years of age and their older siblings at

Christmas. Can you help with a gift for a child aged 0 -

11; warm baby and children’s clothing including hats,

scarves, gloves and socks; toiletries and items suitable

for older children. If you can help or for further infor-

mation contact Andrea Kelly on 955 8811. The latest

collection date is Friday 9th December to enable gifts to

be distributed.

Bishop’s Certificate in Catechesis

For all Parish Catechists who would like to learn more about being a Catechist. For Catechists that work with children, Teens or Adult Enquirers. Course starting February 2017, at the Holy Trinity Parish Centre, Boundary Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 4AU.

12 Sessions: 4th February( 2 sessions), 25th February, 11th March, 25th March, 22nd April, 6th May, 13th May, 10th June, 24th June, 8th July ( 2 sessions).
