Hopefully by the time you receive this all activities will have resumed and we will be hugging and shaking hands like we always have. But today feels really weird. I feel like I should be planning for a Bible study for tomorrow, but it is suspended. I feel like I should be out visiting people, but in home visits are suspended for social distancing purposes. I feel like I should be getting ready for Sunday, but even that is suspended in response to bishop’s request to suspend all activities until the end of March. So I sit here, feeling weird (not sick). Suddenly a lot of what I do can’t be done. I suspect I am not alone in feeling weird. In this weird time I am taking comfort from scripture. In John 16:33 Jesus said, “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, I have overcome the world.” The situation in which we are now living didn’t surprise Jesus. He has already overcome it! In 2 Timothy 1:7 Paul tells us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.” God has given us His Spirit to live inside us to encourage and comfort us. This is a prime time to draw from this power! In this weird time I am also drawing comfort from you. So many of you have reached out with comforting and encouraging words as tough decisions have had to be made about our meeting together. Your support and encouragement means more than you know. This is a great time to draw together and support and encourage one another. Again, by the time you read this I hope we are meeting together in rich fellowship as we always do, but as I write things feel weird. Remember I love you and God loves you. Loving God Loving People Growing Together Moving Forward

    Faith Connections

As I sit to write this article we are in the second day of suspension of

activities due to the COVID 19 novel corona virus. Hopefully by the time you

receive this all activities will have resumed and we will be hugging and shaking

hands like we always have. But today feels really weird. I feel like I should be

planning for a Bible study for tomorrow, but it is suspended. I feel like I should be

out visiting people, but in home visits are suspended for social distancing

purposes. I feel like I should be getting ready for Sunday, but even that is suspended

in response to bishop’s request to suspend all activities until the end of March. So I

sit here, feeling weird (not sick). Suddenly a lot of what I do can’t be done. I suspect

I am not alone in feeling weird.

In this weird time I am taking comfort from scripture. In John 16:33 Jesus

said, “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, I have

overcome the world.” The situation in which we are now living didn’t surprise

Jesus. He has already overcome it! In 2 Timothy 1:7 Paul tells us, “For God has not

given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.” God

has given us His Spirit to live inside us to encourage and comfort us. This is a prime

time to draw from this power!

In this weird time I am also drawing comfort from you. So many of you have

reached out with comforting and encouraging words as tough decisions have had to

be made about our meeting together. Your support and encouragement means more

than you know. This is a great time to draw together and support and encourage one

    another.

Again, by the time you read this I hope we are meeting together in rich

fellowship as we always do, but as I write things feel weird. Remember I love you

and God loves you. Remember we are Loving God, Loving People, Growing

Together and Moving Forward no matter what comes our way.

    Looking Forward,
