THIS IS OUR CITY Keep it clean! Free Monthly Bulk Pick-Up The free bulk pick-up program has been revised in an effort to help keep the city cleaner. City of Toledo residents are now eligible for one free bulk pick-up per month. Also, bulk items will be collected one business day after your regular trash and recycling collection. Bulk pick-ups still need to be scheduled through Republic Services in advance. Call Republic at 419.936.2511 by the day before your regular trash collection day. For example, if your trash collection is Wednesday, you must call Republic to schedule your pick-up by Tuesday, and your items will be collected on Thursday. Waste Collection Assistance Available to People With Disabilities The Solid Waste Accommodation Program (SWAP) is available for Toledo residents who need assistance getting their trash and recycling carts to the curb. Residents with disabilities should call Republic Services at 419.936.2511 to request assistance. Applicants will be sent a request form. Then, a supervisor from Republic will visit their home to determine a customized solution. SWAP is a collaborative effort of Republic Services, Lucas County, the City of Toledo and the Toledo-Lucas County Commission on Disabilities. What to Recycle DO RECYCLE: Paper – broth cartons, catalogs, cereal boxes, corrugated boxes, junk mail, magazines, milk cartons, newspapers, orange juice cartons, paper bags, shredded office paper, soft-cover books and tissue boxes Plastic bleach bottles, bottle and jug caps, milk jugs, plastic containers #1, 2, 4, 5, 6 & 7, shampoo bottles and water jugs Aluminum & Metal coffee cans, lids, pet food cans, soda cans and soup cans Glass – bottles (soda, wine and beer) and jars DO NOT RECYCLE: Ceramics, food waste, hard-cover books, hoses, light bulbs, mirror glass, window or auto glass, oil or antifreeze containers, paint cans, polystyrene foam, rope, tarps and tents, textiles, wood and yard waste Questions?
