This is #notyouraveragelibrary. This is not your average library summer reading program. This is the Summer Dare – summer learning at its finest.

The Summer Dare is designed for learners of all ages, with weekly themed activities designed to encourage lifelong learning, interaction and experiences in the Library and beyond.

Participating is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Sign up Register online at SummerDare.CRlibrary.org or at either Library location. Each person receives a coupon for a free book from the Friends Book Nook and a special Summer Dare Journal.

2. Read and Explore Read and explore the dares throughout the summer. Use the Summer Dare Log to track your reading minutes or record them online at SummerDare.CRlibrary.org. Stop by the Library each week to receive (or enter to win) the Treat of the Week, take part in amazing programs and activities, and check out more reading material—we dare you!

3. Complete the program Read 600 minutes between June 5 and July 30 to complete the Summer Dare. Stop by the Library to pick up your free book or Friends Book Nook coupon and turn in your final reading numbers. Keep reading—get a free book for each additional 300 minutes you read by July 30.

DARE TO volunteer at the library this summer!

Volunteering at the library is a great way to get a behind-the-scenes look at all the action of our Summer Dare program. We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers of all ages at both library locations this June and July. Volunteer roles include registering patrons to be a part of the Summer Dare at the Dare Desk, presenting weekly off-site programs with Summer Dare Everywhere, and volunteering with big one-time events like the Summer Dare Celebration.

For more information, visit our summer volunteer website at CRLibrary.org/summervolunteers or call 319.261.READ.

Volunteer applications are being accepted through June 9, 2017.
