We can imag- ine him turning toward the direction of the commotion and noise. Bartimaeus probably had his arms outstretched as he shouted out to the son of David. The people who knew him were embarrassed by his out- burst. They tried to hush him up and get him to sit back down by the roadside. Their actions spoke volumes: Bartimaeus, youre not fit for Jesus. But it was okay for them and other sightedpeople to follow Jesus. TRUE BLINDNESS

Bartimaeus caused a stir. Normally he sat by the side of the road being a “good blind beggar.” But one day Jesus passed near-by. Bartimaeus jumped up and called out to Jesus. We can imag-ine him turning toward the direction of the commotion and noise. Bartimaeus probably had his arms outstretched as he shouted out to the son of David.

The people who knew him were embarrassed by his out-burst. They tried to hush him up and get him to sit back down by the roadside. Their actions spoke volumes: “Bartimaeus, you’re not fit for Jesus.” But it was okay for them and other “sighted” people to follow Jesus. In today’s readings, we learn that true blindness is not a condition of our eyes but of our hearts.

ACA 2016

The Programs, services and ministries sup-ported by the Diocesan Annual Catholic Ap-peal are intended to meet the needs of Catholics here in the Diocese of Yakima.

The Church serves each of us, and our finan-cial support is needed to continue God’s

work here in Central Washington.

Prayer Chain

If you would like to place some-one on the prayer chain, please call Grace Nelson at 754-4209 or email [email protected] or call the Parish Office 754-3640 to communicate your intentions.

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Did you know that St. Rose School teaches students how to live a saintly life? What are the saints teaching us? Why do we pray to them? How can I be a saint? God calls us to be saints every day in our words and actions. Ask a student about what it means to be caught being a saint!

FOOD BANK

It’s the Parish’s turn to help at the Food Bank in the month of November! Please call Patti Donovan at 754-6253 if you are able to volunteer on a Monday or Thursday next

month from 1:30-4:00. Thank you!

in our community!

Christmas Bazar!

The St. Rose YLI Holiday Bazar is coming up! Mark your cal-endars for November 14th to stock up on all your Christmas gifts! As in years past, it will be held in the St. Rose gym.

Doors will open at 9am with things wrapping up at 3pm. Stop by for some lunch and our famous cinnamon rolls. There will also be a Christmas basket raffle and a turkey raffle!

Thank you for your response to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith last weekend on World Mission Sunday. Our parish raised $228. Some peo-ple are called to go to serve in other countries to develop the Church and

serve it’s people, but all of us can pray and support Missions from right here in the parish.

“Mission is part of the ‘grammar’ of faith, something essential for those who listen to the voice of the Spirit who whispers ‘Come’ and ‘Go forth.’ Those who follow Christ cannot fail

to be missionaries…”

Pope Francis

VERDADERA CEGUERA

Bartimeo causo tremenda conmocio n.
