Third FloorThe easiest way to get to the third floor is to take the elevator from the first floor reference stack area. Or you may take the central stairs to the second floor, go past the double doors and make a right in the hallway to get to the stairs that lead to the third floor.
Second Floor Stairs to Third Floor
The Third floor has stacks PN-Z, Juvenile Collection, Oversized Collection, Connecticut Collection. Library Administration, group study rooms, reading areas, Teaching and Learning Center, and Library Science.
Third floor stacks PN-Z
The third floor stacks have the remainder of the circulating collection (books with call numbers PN2924-Z). This is a view of the stacks from the Student Center side.
A water fountain is on the right and the restrooms are right next to the water fountain. The elevators are straight ahead.
From the elevator turn left to the atrium that connects this part of the building with the renovated section.

In the center of the third floor stack area are a kiosk for conducting quick searches in the library’s catalog, an Optelec machine for the visually disadvantaged, a couple of computers and
listening and viewing stations.The listening and viewing stations will move to the Media section on the ground floor of the
library in the near future.

Right after the Z section are the Juvenile fiction and non-fiction books – these are children’s books that are used in education classes. Then follows the Curriculum Collection consisting of
materials that are related to teacher education. The Oversized Collection is shelved next. These are books that are too tall to fit on the regular
shelves.All of these collections can be checked out.

The Connecticut Collection is shelved at the end of the third floor stacks after the Oversized Collection.
At the far end is the library administrative assistant’s office.
The Library Director’s Office, Room 350, is at the back on the Fitch Street side. If you take a right off the elevator and proceed towards the Connecticut Collection, you will see the door to the office. Next to room
350 on the left is 351, the Administrative Assistant’s office.

An additional study room, Room 349 is available on this floor. You take a right when you step off the elevator on the third floor to get to this room which is just across
from the Oversized stacks. This can also be booked online via the library home page.

Two more reading rooms are located on the third floor. The Mezzanine Reading Room is to the right of the hallway with the entrance from the third floor stack area and the other reading
room is on the left just outside the entrance to the Academic Success Center. Both rooms are located directly above the second floor reading rooms.
Reading
Across from the third floor stacks on the renovated side is the Academic Success Center which will be open fall 2015. Although the sign now reads Teaching and Learning Center it will be
renamed Academic Success Center. Students will be able to get academic assistance here such as supplemental instruction and tutoring services.The Library Science Department is also in this area.
