FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

Christmas Liturgies

A big thanks to everyone who contributed to making our

holiday liturgies as wonderful as they were this year. From

a busy 5 PM Christmas Eve Mass to our final celebrations

on the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God the talents and

generosity of our community shone brightly.

On behalf of myself, Fr. Malone, and our seminarian-

intern Patrick, please accept my gratitude for the many

kind gifts and cards we received over the course of the

Christmas holiday. These were greatly appreciated, and

made our celebration of the season even happier.

With the coming of the New Year, many are making

resolutions and plans for the months to come. Consider

finding some time this year to volunteer in one of our

many parish groups and ministries. Our new Volunteer

Recruitment Tool is available on the welcome desk to help

make the process quick and easy.

DIOCESAN PRAYER CALENDAR

This week we especially pray for:

Monday Reverend Stipe Renic, O.F.M.

Tuesday Reverend Peter Watters

Wednesday Felician Franciscan Sisters (C.S.S.F.)

Thursday Reverend Ilija Petkovic

Friday Reverend Monsignor Ivan Vuksic

Saturday Reverend Michael Vanderbeek, L.C.

Eternal Father, we lift up to you these and all the priests,

religious and lay ministers of the world. Sanctify them.

Heal them; guide them. Mold them into the likeness and

holiness of your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest. May

their lives be pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name we pray.

Amen.

“On entering the house, they saw the

child with Mary his mother; and they

knelt down and paid him homage.

Then, opening their treasure chests,

they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

God asks us to give our lives. What treasures have been

given to you to share with others in Christ’s name? If you

think God is calling you to be a priest, contact Father

Michael King, Director of Vocations and Priestly

Formation, Diocese of Hamilton at 905-528-7988 or email

[email protected].

RCIA - For those not yet Baptized, Baptized

in another Faith, those not yet Confirmed or

those who have questions

about the Catholic Christian Faith.

RCIA is a path for teens and adults to learn more about

the Catholic faith. It is for those wishing to receive the

Sacraments and for those who are just interested in

knowing more and might have questions. Sessions are on

Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Marian Room. For more

information, call the parish office and a team member will

contact you.

ATTENTION CWL MEMBERS

Start the New Year off right! Our first

meeting in January will occur as a

luncheon and afternoon meeting on

Thursday, January 10th at 12:30 p.m. We

will gather in the PLC for homemade soups and rolls,

followed by a brief meeting, and a “Prayer Workshop”

that day. We will learn how easy it is to compose your

own prayers! Mark the date on your calendars and plan to

join us.

YOUNG ALTAR SERVER

TRAINING

A reminder that our next training

session for new servers will be

Saturday, January 12th from 10:00 to

11:30 a.m.

YOUTH

MINISTRY

invited to our first meeting of 2019. Join us Tuesday,

January 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. We look forward to

seeing you there.

GRIEF SUPPORT

Has someone you cared about died? Are

you feeling emotional, grieving the loss of

the person’s presence in your life? Are you wondering

whether others share your experience? You are not

alone. Come for an opportunity to learn, share, pray, and

heal as you journey through grief. We will view excerpts

from the DVD series “Grief Matters” by Dr. Bill Webster,

followed by informal discussion.

Join us in the Marian Room on Monday, January 7th from

10:00 to 11:30 a.m. This month’s topic is “Coping with

Grief”. All are welcome.
