Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead THE OBJECTIVE: This challenge is for Global Engineering leaders – trailblazing companies and engaged ci:zens commi;ed to solving problems that ma;er, and solving them right. This challenge aims to create real transforma:on, by developing systemic innovaCons that will truly take hold in engineering industry to drive its posi:ve impact. This can also be an opportunity to showcase exis:ng or emerging systemic innova:ons implemented by your company, ins:tu:on, or team. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?TWO OPTIONS: Register as a team represenCng your company, tackling systemic issues specific to your industry. Register as a ciCzen team, tackling an important systemic issue our society faces that involves the engineering industry. WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE? The conference provides the space and the support for your systemic innova:on to thrive: Analyze your company or your chosen industry through a systemic lens. Develop or showcase the prototype of a real, implementable, systemic innova8on in the industry. Showcase your prototype at the Global Engineering Conference. HOW DOES IT WORK? Your engagement in the Systemic Innova:on Challenge begins six weeks before the Global Engineering Conference itself. With this challenge, it is your team that is bringing Global Engineering to the conference. You will: Create a dedicated team, within your company to lead the innova:on process; Devote six weeks to analysis and prototyping (approximately 2 hours / person / week); Receive coaching in systems thinking provided by EWB Montreal, with a formal training on April 19 th ; Present your prototype to a panel of experts on the day of the conference. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? The conference will serve as an opportunity to showcase your Global Engineering leadership to your industry peers and to the public. Moreover, based on the panel’s feedback, your innova:on can be given further support and publicity throughout the year, according to your company’s wants and needs.
