THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTIONS
Nutrition is all about food and how the body uses it especially as a fuel for daily
activities. Nutrition, as described by the council of the !erican "edical ssociation #Car!ela
et$al %&&', is the study of nutrients and the substance therein, their action, interaction, and
balance in relation to the health and disease, and the process by which the or(anis!s in(ests,
absorbs, transports, utili)es, and e*cretes food substance. Nutrition is based upon ancient dietary
principle and !odern research on the effect of the environ!ent, socio+econo!ic, and spiritual
influence on the food we eat, the water we drin, and the air we breathe.

5ealth is reflected in a person6s nutritional status. Nutritional status is the condition of the
individual as influenced by the utili)ation of nutrients. #7e(u!, %&&14.
8eople eat #foods4 to survive. These foods contain the essential nutrients essential for
(rowth and develop!ent, and for the !aintenance of life. The ind and a!ount of foods taen in
by an individual and how the body utili)es the nutrients therein reflects the nutritional status.

nutritional proble!s can be funda!entally solved after investi(atin( and analy)in( actual

"any precedin( studies have been perfor!ed for dietary lifestyle of ele!entary students
