Dynamic growth.With no end in sight.From our beginnings as a fast-growing SYSTEMS services provider, we developed into a technology company with a core competency in mechatronics. In 2015 our corporate group generated about 47 million euro in revenues with ex cellent prospects for continued, highly dynamic business development.Alongside our corporate headquarters in Munich, we have opened project offices in Ingolstadt, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg as well as representative offices at our partners in Europe, America and Asia.In 2007 we were awarded the Bavarian Start-Up Prize. And in 2009 our solar test park was selected as a prime location in the context of the initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas”. In 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015 VISPIRON was listed among “Germany’s Best Employers” by the Great Place to Work Institute and the Handelsblatt. VISPIRON is involved in a range of business domains that all revolve about our technology competence in the field of mechatronics.It all started in 2002 with SYSTEMS services. Since then, in our role as a development partner, we have developed innovative and safety-relevant mechatronics systems for many companies.In 2007 we founded Deutsche Solar Werke, the precursor of our Energy business unit. This unit is active in the field of renewable energy, develops mounting systems for photovoltaic plants and builds power stations. Our acquisition of ROTEC GmbH laid the cornerstone for our Measurement Technology business. At the time, ROTEC measurement technology had already been deployed worldwide for over 20 years for the rotational analysis of engines, gearboxes and turbines.In 2009 we acquired PINCAR AG, the specialist for driver’s logbooks, which then became the VISPIRON Fleet Management business unit. Our logbook management system allows vehicle fleets to be managed economically, with an eye to tax-efficiency. The four VISPIRON business units are active in various growth markets. Our mechatronic competence and develop ment infrastructure is used by all units and thus generates useful synergies. Furthermore, this structure provides a source of stable and consistent growth.

It all started with our SYSTEMS business unit. SYSTEMS is our largest unit with the largest number of permanent and freelance employees. We are continuously hiring new engineers and are among Germany’s top SYSTEMS service providers. This business unit is the entry point for many employees; it serves as a springboard to further positions in VISPIRON.We search for new approaches and develop products for our customers – but also for our other business units. Many of our innovations stem from here, for example our driver’s logbook management system. Our employees spend a lot of time with our customers on site. There they live the enthusiastic spirit of our enterprise. We are driven by a high level of quality awareness and have a solid base of expert knowledge in electrical SYSTEMS,

mechanical SYSTEMS and information technology, as well as project and quality management. We also welcome excellent lateral entrants: A sinologist and a malaiologist manage our key accounts.

We develop IT and mechatronic systems. For our automo tive customers, for example, we test the handling of automatic transmissions. Our engineers investigate whether a given transmission shows hard or soft shifting characteristics. In this way the manufacturer knows whether the car will possess sporty or elegant driving characteristics, and whether or not it will indeed have the characteristics the product is intended to embody.

SYSTEMS in short

• We provide SYSTEMS services for innovative IT and mechatronic sys-tems in the automotive and aerospace fields, as well as for mechani-cal SYSTEMS, telecommunication, environmental technology and medical technology.

Reduce fuel consumption, reduce emissions – these are the clear demands of government policy. VISPIRON RO-TEC makes it possible to optimize drive trains using our worldwide leading measurement equipmnent.

For over 25 years, our Measurement Technology business unit has been producing, selling and providing testing equipment to top-notch automotive companies under the brand name of ROTEC. We have set standards worldwide with our measurement systems.We simulate, animate, measure and analyze all kinds of torsional vibration and are the world market leader in this highly specialized niche. Our technology and SYSTEMS are in volv ed when our customers develop new combustion engines and the associated drive trains. Automobile manufacturers, for example, optimize their engines using ROTEC equipment. They use our reliable results e.g. to prevent crankshafts fractures and to reduce transmission noise and vibration. This is our contribution to increased driving comfort.

Our customers build cars, boats, aircraft, turbines, engines and transmissions. We provide them with the foundation for new and continued development work. Our contribution thus secures quality for the entire powertrain. As an extrem ely flexible unit, we have a reputation for excellent support – and that since many years. We work on the further development of our systems continuously, keeping our sights on new application areas. An example for a new application is the monitoring of wind turbines. We develop our own specialized measurement systems, produce them at our Munich headquarters and market and sell them across the globe. Demand from USA, China and India is substantial – and constantly growing.

• Modern combustion engines must be efficient, reliable and quiet. To achieve these criteria, the Ford Motor Company in Germany investigate engine timing drives using a ROTEC equipment using at least three rotational speed channels and eight analogue channels. They measure the crankshaft and camshaft rotational speeds and angular positions, chain tensioner movement and the oil pressure in the tensioner element.

• Optimising engine combustion processes results in reduced fuel consumption. With this in mind, the Porsche SYSTEMS Group uses ROTEC testing equipment to investigate valvetrain dynamics.

• Klingelnberg uses ROTEC measurement systems for single flank testing of high precision bevel gear sets. The measure ment system is integrated into a bevel gear test machine. This is part of the manufacturing process and ensures the quality of the final product.

Our Fleet Management business unit provides solutions for the countless vehicle fleets in German companies and organizations. With our numerous innovations, we help our customers navigate efficiently and reliably through com pany audits. Our customers are companies and frequent drivers.Our driver’s logbook manager simplifies your working world while at the same time protecting your privacy. 11 pieces of information must be recorded in the logbook per trip direction. Our logbook records 8 of these 11 items automatically. All trips are logged and automatically sent from the vehicle to a datacenter via an internet connection. Business trips are converted into complete logbooks accepted by the tax office. For personal trips, only the number of kilometers driven is shown. All other information is suppressed. Our system is accepted by company works councils.

We work closely with our customers and implement their needs. Many additional services have grown out of this intensive communication exchange. Our system monitors driver’s licenses, dispenses keys and books pool cars. Service technicians can process messages concerning their work orders right in the car and manage their working time via the system.

Our team shares a special spirit: Sales and developers work side by side in the continuous development of new functionality. In addition, VISPIRON engineers from other domains contribute significantly to the inception and further development of our products.

• A regional public utility has equipped its fleet of 160 company cars with our driver’s logbook management system. For a fee, over 700 employees may also use the cars for their personal trips. An RFID chip checks the driver’s authorization and his or her driver’s license.

• An industrial group with a decentralized fleet structure has deployed our driver’s logbook management system for 500 of their vehicles.

• The fleet of a regional bank uses our Log-Touch system. Around 600 employees use the system to record their trips and cost centers.

• A representative organization for a national insurance com pany uses our system to meet the special tax requirements of self-employed people.

• Our electronic, internet-based driver’s logbook management system optimizes the management of vehicle fleets in companies and organizations.

• It checks driver’s licenses, compiles logbooks and provides help in adhering to leasing contract conditions by keeping track of leasing expenses. In addition, it also handles refueling management.

Over 90 % of all manual driver’s logs fail to pass company audits. The VISPIRON technology is accepted by the Ger-man Ministry of Finance and saves not only on taxes, but also on expenses and time.

The future designerOur Energy business unit is a technology-driven, high-performance domain whose innovative, high-quality products are helping to shape the face of the future-oriented field of renewable energy. We are working hard at achieving grid parity in the near future.Our engineers develop open-space mounting systems for solar panels. We build arbitrarily extendable carports with solar panel roofs.All of these substructures build on a technology platform developed specifically for this purpose. Since they are relatively light and come pre-assembled, the mounting systems can be set up on open spaces very quickly and easily.

We are aware that our designs have a noticeable effect on the economy of photovoltaic power plants. That is why we have placed our focus on longevity, simplicity and cost effectiveness.In addition, as an EPC contractor, we plan, implement and operate photovoltaic facilities, both in Germany and abroad. Reliability, efficiency and a positive environmental balance distinguish our solar power plants, which also serve as income property in the financial market.Work in the Energy team is diverse and our structures are adaptable. Our staff is excellently trained. They react with flexibility and are highly motivated.

• Our various carport solutions can be deployed in both residential and commercial environments.

• Our mounting system PIRMIN/PARS for open space facilities is suitable for all standard module types.

References

• We are the EPC contractors for the 5.5 megawatt open space facility in Hildburghausen, Thuringia. We mounted 23,700 modules from the three manufacturers Canadian Solar, Yingli Solar and Trina Solar on 1,482 module tables of our PIRMIN III system.

• We mounted 14,500 modules from the manufacturer Canadian Solar on 906 module tables of our PIRMIN III mounting system in Kaufering, Upper Bavaria.

• We supplied our mounting system PIRMIN to multiple projects in Italy with an overall capacity of 2 megawatts.

SOLARTECH.ING Construction of grid-parity power plants

The annual energy requirements of Germa-ny could be met by covering merely 4 % of our land space with solar modules. VISPIRON supplies the system technology for solar power stations.

The VISPIRON team has grown from zero to around 150 staff members since 2002. In the coming years we want to take many new, young colleagues on board. Over two-thirds of our employees work in the SYSTEMS business unit. The others are distributed relatively evenly between the remaining three business units, Energy, Measurement Technology and Fleet Management.A defining characteristic of our team is that we are very young: Many employees responsible for management or for projects are not even 30 years old. The average age of our staff is just over 30.

We love engaging in professional exchanges on equal terms: Almost all of our colleagues come from an academic background and some 80 percent are “techies” from the various SYSTEMS disciplines.What unites us is the enthusiasm for technical solutions that we develop and the hands-on spirit in our team: We avoid unnecessary red tape, are close to a paperless office, like to act flexibly and dynamically, and treat each other as partners. This also accounts for why VISPIRON has been distinguished a number of times as an employer.

As far as your career is concerned, you will not find any predefined paths here. No matter whether you are a trainee, a student, a university graduate or a seasoned professional: You alone will decide the path you will take. Two typical typesCarolin Beck (pictured on the left) studied in Constance and Kuala Lumpur and earned her degree as a business malaiologist. In her first job at VISPIRON, she was responsible for the recruitment of new staff for the SYSTEMS business unit – identified potential candidates in job exchanges and databases and interviewed them. In the mean- time, just under 30 years young, she runs an SYSTEMS sales team and negotiates new development projects with engineers and the purchasing department of our customer BMW. The Measurement Technology business unit comprises around a dozen employees – and at 45 years, the average age in this subsidiary is significantly higher than in the other VISPIRON corporate units. Thorsten Tetenz (pictured on the right), who runs this unit, is barely 30 years young and responsible for production, development, liquidity

and reve nues of three million euro. He prepared himself for this job diligently: with a degree in electrical and information technology, as well as a second degree as a Master of Business and SYSTEMS acquired alongside his full-time position at VISPIRON.

He has been a part of the team for five years, starting as a development engineer on a BMW project before moving on to become a key account manager in technical sales and then assuming his current position at the helm of the entire business domain ROTEC Measurement Technology.
