What is a theme, and what should it accomplish?

• Place for interactions– Seed for project ideas, grant applications– Synthesis, reviews– More..? We decide!

• Minimum requirements – Keep track of research frontiers!– Develop theme research plan

• …A funding instance for projects– Limited budget– Facilitate, support and fund start-up activities,

grant applications, syntheses papers, more..

Theme leaders

Theme work principles

• Engage as much as you want and can

• “Nothing in → nothing out”

• Theme helps to initiate projects/collaborations– Then carried out in parallel to other theme

activities

Funds (200,000 SEK/year)

• Distributed through an “innovation fund”

• Everyone can apply – 1 page principle

• Theme leaders decide on approval – with help of theme members and SRC management
