Holiday Lab (using Headings, Themes, Styles, Page Numbers, and Cropping)

Theme- (on Page Layout tab)a set of design elements that provide a unified look for your colors, fonts, and graphics

Themes (colors, fonts, effects) simplify the process of creating matching, professional-looking documents not only within one program but across multiple programs. Use themes to give all of your organization's communications a branded look.

The Difference between Themes and StylesAt first look it may seem that themes and styles in Microsoft Word serve the same function. Both features allow you to change colors, typefaces and style sets. The difference is that themes define the overall look of your document while styles offer different palette options that work with the main design.

Style (on Home tab) if you want to change certain parts of the theme or customize a document.

ExampleWhat color would a Christmas theme be? What color would a Halloween theme be?

What if you used a Halloween theme for a letter but then you wanted to make a certain part red (for blood) and have a creepier text? You could highlight the part you want to change and use the style options to make the text and color look different.

Your Turn

The same theme used in Office PowerPoint 2007, Office Excel 2007, and Office Word 2007
