Central West Civil Pty Ltd (CWC) is an Australian owned and operated company based in Millthorpe NSW. We have been operating as a construction and civil earthmoving company since 2000, completing projects along the East coast of Australia from North Queensland to Tasmania. At CWC, we aim to work as partners with our customers to achieve superior results and value for money. Central West Civil has an Integrated Management System (IMS) covering three Core Standards of: Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Management. The system manuals are structured around the necessary policies, procedures and work instructions (Safe Work Method Statements, Safe Work Procedures, and Project Management Plans and Forms) which are required to be implemented to meet International & Australian Standards, Industry Standards and Best Practice:

Quality: AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008; Quality Management System Requirements; and the Civil Construction Management Code.

Occupational Health & Safety: AS 4801: 2001; Occupational Health and Safety Management System Specifications & Guidance for Use; the OH&S Act 2004; and OH&S Regulations 2007.

Environment Management: AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004; Environmental Management System Specifications with Guidance for Use; and the relevant EPA requirements.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT - POLICYThe health, safety and welfare of all employees and visitors are of equal importance with all other operational considerations. The employer, supervisors, employees, and contractors work together to ensure a safe environment for all whilst complying to the OH&S Act, Regulations, and the AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHAS18001:2007 Safety standards.

Central West Civil Pty Ltd is responsible for:• Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety and welfare legal

requirements including the OH&S Act, OH&S Regulations, Codes of Practice AS/NZS Standards, and industry best practice as a minimum level within all of its activities.

• Ensure reasonable steps are taken to provide a safe occupational and safe ways of working.

• Reducing occupational incidents and occupational illness.• Providing ways for employees to be informed about and involved in health

Employees are responsible for:• Following reasonable instructions and using equipment provided by the

employer to protect their health and safety while at work.• Identifying and reporting any occupational incidents or hazards to their

supervisor.• Being involved in the resolution of occupational health and safety issues.• Protecting their health and safety and that of others by not working while

under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.• Not interfering with, or removing any safety guards, safety devices or

protective equipment provided by the employer.

We can expect contractors and visitors to:• Abide by Occupational health and safety legal responsibilities, and follow

any reasonable instructions and advice while at the employer’s occupational.

Consultation• The organisation has total commitment to encouraging consultation and

co‐operation between management and employees. It will formally involve employees in any occupational change, which will affect their health, and safety in any occupational.
