• Make sure you’ve understood the topic

• Quickly write down all the ideas you can think of

• Don’t worry about grammar or spelling

• Group similar ideas together

• Cross out irrelevant ideas

Fast Writing

• Quickly write down your points for each of the main ideas

• If you can’t think of a word in English write it in your own language

• At this stage , don’t write complete sentences

Drafting

• Now you’re ready to begin writing

• Write in pencil.

• Leave margins for notes

• Write quickly .

• Don’t worry about neatness or accuracy

• Read what you’ve written again

• Mark the things you need to improve

• Add connectors to join sentences

• Use adjectives and adverbs to modify

• Check your spelling and grammar

• CONTENT AND ORGANISATION

• Did I begin with a strong opening sentence?

• Present my ideas clearly?

• Support my ideas with details and examples?
