The World’s Toughest Spray
Leave Nothing to Doubt
Say goodbye to clip-on covers and
unsightly UV-faded purple plastic
covers. Reclaimed versions of the
RD1800 feature a patent pending
design that warns the public of
non-potable water use. The RD1800
offers a unique combination of a
purple wiper seal, the international
do not drink symbol and standard
English and Spanish warnings.
Racheting Up Reliability
The RD1800’s ratchet mechanism was designed
to easily adjust during installation, hold steady
over time, provide greater debris resistance and
be more flexible. While competitive rings become
brittle, the RD1800 ratchet ring does not crumble
when exposed to stress.
We’ve Got You Covered
From top to bottom, the rugged RD1800 was engineered to stand up to the
rigors of any challenge. Designed using the most advanced modeling software,
the RD1800’s impact-resistant cover and body stand up to vandalism, while also
resisting damage in high-pressure applications.
Keep Debris in its Place
With each system start-up, the RD1800’s unique debris
pockets hold grit in place—removing it from circulation
and preventing long-term damage. So, when other
stems and nozzles become clogged with grit, the
RD1800 remains clear.

Extended Life in Harsh Environments
An innovative design isn’t the only thing that makes the RD1800’s Triple-Blade
Wiper Seal unique. Bacterial contaminants and other chemicals
present in modern water supplies accelerate wear and degrade
plastics. In engineering the RD1800, we carefully selected new
plastics and materials that retain their properties better over
time in harsh environments. For you and your customers, that
means years of trouble-free performance.
Proven Pressure Regulation
Using the patented PRS device that
made the 1800 Series famous, the
RD1800 delivers consistent outlet
pressure regardless of inlet pressure
fluctuation.
Pressure Variations? You needed a spray head that thrives
in high-pressure situations, so we built
the RD1800 to withstand operating
pressures from 15 to 100 psi. The
RD1800 outperforms all other spray
heads, especially in applications with
wide pressure variations.
Nearly three decades ago, the Rain Bird® 1800®
Series and its co-molded wiper seal changed
irrigation technology forever. With the
RD1800, we’ve done it again with a precisely
engineered, exclusive Triple-Blade Wiper Seal.
The RD1800’s Top Seal flushes during pop-up
and wipes the stem clean during retraction, preventing external debris from
entering. During operation, the RD1800’s Primary Seal combines with the stem’s
surface to eliminate flow-by. The exclusive Third Blade provides another line of
defense, in case the primary seal is damaged.

Exclusive Flow-Shield™ TechnologyThe RD1800’s exclusive Flow-Shield™
Technology delivers a low-flow
service indication stream when a
nozzle is removed. As a result, system
performance is maintained, water is
saved and you don’t have to wait until
you have brown grass or dead plants
to notice something’s wrong.
Not only does exclusive Flow-
Shield Technology help you identify
problems, it also solves them. When a
nozzle is removed, the RD1800 reduces
flow up to 90 percent compared to a
standard spray and up to 50 percent
when compared to a PRS spray.
If a nozzle is removed, not only does
the RD1800 preserve hydraulics for the
rest of the lateral line, it also improves
flushing by preventing large debris
particles from being sucked into the
spray body. Instead, debris migrates
to the end of the lateral line, where it
can be completely and permanently
flushed from the system.
Introducing the RD1800™ Series Spray HeadLegislation, growing demand and a limited potable water supply
have increased our reliance on alternative water sources. As a result,
water used for irrigation is harsher today than ever before. You told
us you need a spray specifically suited for the most challenging
environments. You also want a spray that will conserve water
and provide years of worry-free performance. The new Rain Bird®
RD1800™ Series Spray is proof that we’ve been listening.
Reclaimed water versions of the RD1800 feature a purple wiper seal, while potable water models include a white wiper seal.
