5:30pm Sports and Entertainment Lounge

#checkin

or most people, 5:30 pm is the time when the day’s stresses are forgotten and we start to think about how to unwind. This

is what the 5:30pm Sports and Entertainment Lounge is all about. They have created a space geared towards all things entertainment. That in-cludes 3D screens in their gaming lounge with on-line gaming capability – so it’s easy to play against a friend sitting beside you or as far away as the other side of the globe. There is also a 3D movie theatre equipped with a 63” HD TV and can seat up to 10 people.

If gaming and movies aren’t your thing, then the lounge area will be more your speed, where there is a DJ spinning tunes. Indulge in the variety of drinks from the premium bar or play a game of pool. And if you plan to stay out late on a Fri-day or Saturday, then get your food fix with some jerked chicken or pork from the kitchen.

5:30pm Sports Bar is located at Shop 5 in Clock Tower Plaza, Half Way Tree. Weekend opening hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-2am and Sundays from 12noon-9pm.

What is your typical weekend? Typical will never describe my weekend. They do, how-ever, include some staples: the three Fs – food, family and friends, dancing, art and happy hour cocktails. . .wine spritzers to be exact!

Do you have a weekend must see/do/eat? Must exercise, must go ‘art-ing’, must have a great burg-er!

What has been your best weekend ever? In life, one is never enough – so can’t pick just one, but each has its own sprinkle of magic.

Sticky buns from Sweet Belle

+#iLike…

o you know that feeling when you know that you shouldn’t

eat something but it tastes so good that you throw all self-control out the window? That is my experience with Sweet Belle’s sticky buns. I have only tried them twice, but it may have been two times too many. I’m addicted. And according to Annmarie, the cashier (yes, I know her name), I am not the only one who keeps coming back for more.

If you are lucky enough to get there when a fresh batch is just coming out the oven, then you will get to experi-ence the buns at their best. When you order a sticky bun, they will bring it to you with a knife and fork. While it may be more civilised and less messy to eat with utensils, the experience is so much better with your hands. You will smell the aroma of cinnamon, butter and brown sugar all baked together in this perfect little bun. Just grab it and take a bite! It will melt in your mouth and the warm, buttery, sugary good-ness on top makes it that much better.

Don’t worry about your fingers getting all sticky because when you’re done you can lick your fingers clean. It’s all part of the experience. And if you are not careful, you could become a repeat offender. A problem which, over time, may offend your waistline.
