From the Director . . .

Please allow me to welcome you to Castle High School for tonight’s winter choir concert! Your attendance and presence is deeply appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. Our students work very hard each season to prepare and present high-quality, educational, and entertaining choral literature to diverse audiences, and it is our hope that you have a rewarding and enriching evening.

We are winding down our contest and competition season, and a busy one it has been! Our show choir members have made C.H.S. their second home for the last three months as they have prepared and rehearsed intensely for the festivals in which they have participated over the past several weekends. I want to commend them on all of their hard work and the positive manner in which they have represented their school and community. I also want to thank three very special groups of people – our back-up band, our stage crew, and our booster parents. It takes a tremendous amount of hours and volunteer support to accomplish our goals each year, and it all would not even begin to be possible without a strong team of people behind the scenes working to make our shows the best they can possibly be. So many people have contributed to the overall operation in so many ways that it would be very difficult to mention everyone’s individual contributions. But to everyone who played an instrument, built or maintained any part of our sets, sewed costume pieces, provided food for rehearsals, pulled the trailer to or chaperoned competitions, assisted backstage at contest sites, and a myriad of other activities – we say a tremendous, sincere, and heartfelt THANK YOU. Mrs. Chambliss and I are deeply grateful for your ongoing generosity for the benefit of our students.

And now, on with the evening. What you will see tonight is a testimony to the performing arts, which are alive and well in this community. Enjoy the show.

Sincerely,

Brian Adcock Chair, Department of Music Director of Choral Activities Castle High School
