It was the first time our team was participating in Robocon. Total 107 team has

participated in this year Robocon. All the teams were divided into 35 groups with

each group consisting of 3 teams for the league rounds. Our team were in ‘S’ group

with Marwadi Education Foundation, Rajkot and Kumaraguru College of

Technology, Coimbature. In the first match against MEF, Rajkot, our team scored

51 points with 1 rongbay and they scored 35 points without any rongbay. In the

second match against KCT, Coimbature, our team scored 88 points with 2 rongbays

whereas they couldn’t score any point. Team overall score was 123 points with 3

rongbays. As the league round ended, time of announcement of top 24 teams arrived,

to our surprise, we were ranked at 8th

position in top 24 teams.

Our debut team then had entered in super league. All the 24 teams were again divided

into 8 groups, with each group having 3 teams. Our team were in ‘H’group alongside

with Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune and College of Engineering, Pune

(Finalists of robocon’17). In the first match against COEP, our team scored 102

points without any rongbay and they scored 124 points with 2 rongbays. In the

second match against MIT, Pune, our team scored 40 points without any rongbay

and they scored 119 points with 2 rongbays. Team overall score was 142 points

without any rongbay. As the super league round ended, top 8 team qualified for

quarter final were announced. We couldn’t top the list so were eliminated from the

series. The final match was held between Nirma University Ahemdabad and MIT,

Pune. Nirma University, Ahemdabad is the winner this time and will represent India

in Ninh binh, Vietnam in August, 2018.

On 3rd

March our team was felicitated with BEST ROOKIE AWARD. We are

grateful to Prof. Jaymin Patel who initiated the robocon in Neotech IoT, we are also

grateful to Prof. Himanshu Patel & Prof. Parth Patel for mentoring and providing

proper guidance throughout in our robocon journey, we’d also like to thanks Mr.

Praveen Patel & Management who supported us in our journey, without them it was

not possible to attain this achievement.
