GARDEN NEWSLast main running day saw two new coal fired locos, Jack by Brian – see Garden Rail Magazine at Aspley Newsagent for Brian’s series of articles on this Hunslet loco - and Greg’s John Fowler “Green Hornet” ex Timbertown, NSW under construction, again like Jack, using a Roundhouse chassis kit which can be assembled in 2 hours. Andrew reports Gauge 3 (2.5” gauge) is really big in the UK, a picture supplied by him at a recent UK show. Next extra running day Saturday 3rd October.

MAKING AN INTEGRATED CIRCUIT BOARDFor the past two weeks Bob has been teaching a class - etching integrated circuit boards then this week he finished the exercise by constructing a capacity discharge unit for points motors.

NARROW GAUGERay is fitting a balloon loop to the 9mm track branch terminus at the clubrooms which will give a better run for the N, OO9 HOe and Sn2 NG trains. Like Jim Christie’s Sn2 loco picture attached. With the interesting Sunday recently with the Light Railway Research Society of Australia and the walk on the Nerawood timber tramway, Chris built a model of a John Fowler loco used there “Allison” and Terry Paton built a similar one to the other, both in O scale on HO/OO track.
