I WISH I COULD SWIM!
It seems there’s loads of choice these days when it comes to getting fit. Cheerleading, street dance, tennis, snowboarding, roller hockey – the list goes on and on. But we want to talk about a sport that’s always making waves – swimming.
There are loads of interesting facts about how good swimming is for you. But the most important thing is that it’s great fun and a way to be healthy, no matter what your age.
When you swim, you’re using every part of your body to keep yourself bobbing along so, even if you don’t like putting your head in the water, you’re getting a great workout. And the more effort you put in, the more you’ll get out.
We understand that loads of people are scared of the water. So at Glasgow Sport, we have loads of friendly swimming instructors who are always happy to help. They make learning to swim great fun with lots of games and practices that help you get confident in the water.
And the best part is that all Glasgow Kidz Card holders get a discounton a block of 10 swimming lessons.
So why not give it a go? It’s a great life skill to have. And of course you can use your Kidz Card to swim for FREE any day, any time and in any of Glasgow Life’s pools across the city. So come and join us for a whole lot of fun!

TOP TIPS
Don’t forget to ‘friend’ us on our Parentzone Facebook page www.facebook.com/Parentzone
LAST EDITION WE ASKED PARENTS TO LET US KNOW WHAT THEY THOUGHT ABOUT THE GLASGOW KIDZ CARD SCHEME AND TO SHARE ANY TOP TIPS THEY HAVE WITH
OTHER PARENTS.HERE’S WHAT SOME PARENTS HAVE TOLD US:
Win a family season pass to M&D’s allowing 4 people to ride as much as they like, as many days as they want, every day of the season! What better way to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays!
“The Free family Take 2 films are fantastic. It’s a great way to keep the kids entertained on a Saturday morning and to treat them if they have been good
at school all week.” Diane, mother of 2
“The activities on offer during the school holidays for children with a Kidz Card are great and there are so many different fun activities to choose from that are either free or give a good saving. Trying to keep 3 kids under 11 who are
into everything occupied isn’t easy and we’d really struggle to do half as much without our Kidz Cards” Alison and John, parents of 3
If you have any suggestions or tips you would like to share with us email us at [email protected] or alternatively let us know
at www.facebook.com/Parentzone or @KidzCardParentz (Twitter).
“I was pleasantly surprised when a friend told me that the card could be used to get a discount in Internacionale, the discount came in handy when
it was time to get a new jacket for my daughter going back to school” Fiona, single mum of 1
“The arts and crafts pages are really good for rainy days during the school holidays. We had great fun making and eating the mummy dogs and worm sandwiches you suggested in the last Wee Grid magazine” Laura, mum of 2
