Preview of our new & personalized Vernon County 4H Project Guide! A big thank you to our committee who worked on this project. Deb Primmer, Joanne Hornby, Amy Hardy, Cindy Daniels &
Colleen Pulvermacher.
What is a project? A "project" is simply a topic that you can
explore. On the following project pages, you'll find descriptions and resources on a wide variety of major topics . . . from art to woodworking, from computers to rabbits, from clothing to small engines.
As you explore your project, 4H thinks you'll learn more than just subject matter. You'll learn "life skills" too. These are valuable skills, such as understanding yourself, communicating and working with others, problem solving and
decision making... skills that you can use the rest of your life.
Are 4H members expected to do their own project work?
Since 4H is a "learn by doing" program, leaders, youth leaders and parents may tell or show a member how to do something, but members are expected to learn how to do things themselves.
Are 4H projects done individually or as a group?
Both, since some projects like fishing or biking, may be more fun when done as a group. Others, like making a dress or creating a drawing may be done individually.
What does the weblink mean? Literature that can be found on the web (to
print or view) has a web address listed. What does it mean if the weblink is lighter
colored than the rest? The lighter colored weblink listed under some
project headings is a link to get additional information on the project.
