Dear Parents and Friends

Thank you for completing our questionnaires every week. So far we have been able

to offer spaces for all families that have requested them, however we are now

nearly at capacity. The government have said that schools must continue to operate

in bubbles of no more than 15 this term. There will be another questionnaire next

week; we have spaces in all classes at All Saints, except Mars, spaces for Key

Workers at St Martin and spaces for Y5 or 6 children at St Martin in Mrs Coates’

bubble. Nearly half of both schools are back! It’s so lovely to be seeing more of you.

Those of you still at home it is wonderful to see lots of you in worship on Friday,

bringing even more of our community together. Thank you!

Our school risk assessments for opening during the pandemic are on our websites and are regularly

updated following approval from DEMAT.

The government have just published their guidance for schools returning in September. As soon as we

have digested this, and following additional guidance from our multi-academy trust, we will let you know our

plans.

All Saints Forest School Area

Last week we thanked Mr and Mrs Walker for helping to clear our forest school area

at All Saints. Mr Walker then appealed on Facebook for left over wood from lockdown

projects to help re-build the bridge in the area. A huge thank you to Mr Bond at Stoke

Ferry Timber who has offered to donate everything that we need! Another kind

person has also donated £250 towards the project. Such kindness! Thank you very

much indeed.

KLFM have heard about our generous village and are going to talk to some of our children about what they

like about forest schools. Thank you too Mrs Ginger for setting up a funding page for the generous gifts:

School Fundraising Normally at this time of year we are holding the summer fair and other

events, not only to have fun but also to help raise money to buy books

and resources to enhance topics and classrooms the following

academic year.

Congratulations Ciara in Voyagers Class! You won last week’s very

fabulous prize donated by the lovely Peg and Mallet Company –

This week St Martin’s Staff have a sponsored run and All Saints Staff have a sponsored wet

sponge event!! The more money raised, the more staff will be soaked – every £5 means an

additional member of staff gets soaked! Mrs Bryan and myself are hoping to stay dry, so no

need to be too generous. Soakings will occur on Thursday 9th July!

Thank you in advance for supporting us.

This week Mrs Blount, Miss Jory and Miss Parker will be attempting the sponsored run on Wednesday 8th July! These self-professed couch potatoes whose only exercise during lockdown has been to go to the fridge and back will try and run a total of 15 laps, the number of weeks we will have been in lockdown, around the school field whilst encountering a few obstacles on the way. Please show your support and encouragement by going on the ParentMail website or app, click payments, then shop and search sponsored run (or staff soaking) to add a donation of your choice. We will have video evidence that staff at both schools complete their challenge. Thank you very much.

Welcome back! We are so pleased that our lolly-pop lady at All Saints has been permitted to come back to work as part of the easing of lockdown. Welcome back Mrs Lovick, we’ve missed you – we can’t give you a hug because we want to keep you safe, but you’re making life feel better for us all, as well as helping us cross the road safely. Thank you! Mrs Hedgehog bought her two children to school on Thursday; listening in from just outside Mars Class.

Education Library Service The fifth edition of the education library service’s specially curated resource newsletter for those currently home-schooling children is being sent to you with this newsletter. This includes details of the summer reading challenge, a section about diversity in children’s books, Norfolk Museums activity sheets, a story writing competition, art opportunities, a link to some beautiful local art and much more- so do have a look!

Nursery Places at St Martin

We currently have spaces for September available for pre-school children

aged 3 years old or above in our Nursery at St Martin. We have a new,

experienced, Nursery Manager in place so you will be joining us at an

exciting time. Please help us spread the word as widely as possible. If you or

anyone you know might be interested please contact Mrs Goodrum in the

school office in the first instance. We can talk to you on the phone or via

Zoom and will happily arrange a virtual tour for you.

St Martin School Uniform

We are aware that our golden t-shirts are not the cheapest uniform. I have been investigating our uniform colours and I understand that gold and purple were chosen for their uniqueness – to represent the school when it was built. Please feel free to purchase plain gold t-shirts from the high street, or for a small donation we have lots of second hand uniform. Just ask at the office. Thank you.

Best wishes for a happy weekend. Katherine Howe

Can you see kindness and friendship in our actions? Have a look at the kindness calendar for July after the photos.

Dear SECT and Residents,

WEEKLY UPDATE TUESDAY 30 JUNE - Shouldham Emergency Contingency Team (SECT).

Good day we hope you are all well and keeping fit.

Thank you to Mike for providing the update last week.

Thank you to the SECT Volunteers for another productive and supportive week to ensure that all requirements have

been resolved.

We have currently satisfied 79 requests.

We are very aware that ‘The Buddy, Buddy, Family and Friends’ support is continuing in and around the community

and we thank all who are involved.

Importantly, if there is a fall down of any kind, residents must be made aware that they are to contact the SECT.

Importantly we as a team will not take our eye off the ball.

Please would you be kind enough to articulate this message as much as possible.

No one is to be left in a vulnerable position.

COVID-19 updates from the Parish Council (SECT) during this difficult period will only be promulgated from official

government sources. Please do and continue to follow the Government Directives.

We do understand that this weekly update is presented in a set format. Please appreciate that our aim is to keep the

community updated; with no room for misunderstanding.

Keep well and stay safe. Nigel Walsh
