Missions Opportunities at AUMC in 2017

REACH Respite Program

In cooperation with other area churches and

community organizations, AUMC has launched t

he REACH Community Respite Program (Refresh,

Encourage, Activities, Care, Hope). For REACH Participants:

The next Reach Program will be offered on January 10. 2017.

The cost for each Respite Day is $30/day and includes art, mental

and physical exercise and interaction with other participants and

volunteers.

This ministry is for persons with early to moderate memory issues.

Participants must be able to interact socially and attend to their own

bathroom needs.

Those interested in participating must apply through Auburn United

Methodist Church. Applications are now available.

MLK Workday

January 14 & 16, 2016 we are going out to serve in the community

with Alabama Rural Ministry for their MLK Service Days. Saturday

projects include home repair, MLKids children’s ministry, and other

local ministries. Monday projects will primarily be home repair. If you

The series will conclude on Sunday, January 29 with a lunch for the whole

family. Meet the church staff and take a tour of the campus.

Children’s Christmas Pageant

Will be held on Saturday, December 24, 4:00pm

Children should arrive dressed in costume at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary for

warm ups.

252 Xtreme and Rooted will not meet again until January.

Confirmation Parent/Student Meeting

Sunday, January 8 in the gym at 10:30am. This is a mandatory meeting for

all parents and students who wish to participate in Confirmation.

6th graders typically go through Confirmation at AUMC. Older students

may participate if they previously missed Confirmation.

Harvester’s

January’s Harvester’s program will be with historian Jim Phillips as

he brings us “Antebellum Alabama” the history of pre-Civil War

Alabama. Jim has spoken at countless gatherings across the state

for years and will be a big treat for us at AUMC. Come, bring a

covered dish and a friend and join us Wednesday January 4 at

10:45am in the Epworth Fellowship Hall. If you have any old

coins or old bottles etc., bring them with you. Jim will appraise

them after lunch.

Handyman Ministry for Seniors

The Jubilee group is exploring the possibility of starting a ministry

to help seniors with needs around the house. Many seniors don’t

feel comfortable getting on ladders to change light bulbs or replace

batteries in smoke alarms etc. The team members would work

together in groups of 2 to help with small projects around the

house. If this is something that you would be interested in helping

with please call Winsley Bates at 826-8800.

Missions—Flood Relief Trip - January 8-10

with flood relief. We will be

leaving after church at 2:00pm

on Sunday and coming home

Tuesday evening. We’re staying

at FUMC Baton Rouge and the

cost is $25 for lodging and meals
