DAYTON, Ohio, May 16, 1968 --- The University of Dayton was recently awarded

the second ~nstallment of $4,500 against a five year grant of $22,500 contributed

by the Standard Oil Company through its Second SOHIO Foundation .

The initial award of $4,500, presented last year, was used toward the financing

of the Engineering-Research Building which is presently under construction. This

year's installment will also be employed for that purpose. Over the next three years,

the remainder of the grant will be used to finance the purchase of laboratory and

instructional equipment or the construction of any of three planned buildings. These

three buildings include a new library, a fine arts building and a physical education

building.

In accepting the second check, University President, the Very Reverend Raymond

A. Roesch, S.M., stressed UD's deep appreciation for SOBlO's generous and continuing

support during a critical period in the University's five-year Threshold of Greatness

advancement program.
